Just installed Raydon's firmware, and I'm impressed at how easy it was. I've edited my channel list and had a good look around...but it clearly requires tech understanding a couple of notches up from mine. I can't figure out how to access the HDR from Filezilla, or from Windows Explorer (XP), or to in any way get at TinyFTP.

I've read readmes and help files, but my prob is more basic than the info they give! Anyone help at all? Initially I just want to be able to move files on and off the HDR.

Remove tiny ftp and install vsftpd and samba using the package manager from the web interface.
You can then drag and drop from the HDR to Windows, Mac or Linux.
You can drag and drop to the HDR but if you do that your added files won't show up on the Media list.
You need to install AV2HDR on your computer.
You add your files to this and it will convert your files to the required .ts files and generate the two companion files the HDR needs to see them on the media list.
You can then FTP them (automatically if you've set AV2HDR up that way) to the Foxsat.
Make sure you select the HDD option, then select the Video folder. You can then add them to a further series link style folder of your own creation if desired.
You must make sure the files are compatible with the HDR for it to be able to play them.
Read the help files and make sure you convert your avi/mp4/mkv/flv files to one of the compatible resolutions using a free programme such as Quickmediaconverter.
That's what I use and I've set up a Foxsat HDR profile on it.

Have you tried this one?

http://http://hummy.tv/forum/threads...ftp-setup.397/

Works for me. Though my filezilla looks different but there's boxes to put the info in just the same

If your planning on moving stuff of to put on a computer hard drive or a Nas and watch it via the hummy from there then you need to worry about decryption too

Edit. Just read" Foxsat".... This was for the free view box...

Thank you - deleted tinyftp, added samba and vsftpd, and I can see the HDR in Explorer now. Much appreciated! I'll work through the rest when I get a moment..

Well, I sorted out my channel list yesterday, put some non-freesat channels into the freesat side, hid many others that we don't have any use for, renamed, etc. Very useful bit of software, and very professionally fronted too.

Now for a really dumb question. I've tried to get back into the HDR from a pc today, I can see the box in W Explorer, but I assumed that to see the menu of custom software I'd just need to type the 192. etc address into the browser, as I did to get all this underway in the first place.

But "The connection has timed out.
The server at xxx.xxx.x.x is taking too long to respond." is all I get.

Should I be accessing by some other method? (Apols if I'm being super-dense - been a long day!)

Ooops, cancel previous - just checked the address on the HDR and it's changed since yesterday. I didn't realise these were dynamically allocated! Does one have to get today's address from the HDR to log-on everytime? Or can it be made static?

You will probably be able to do this with a little bit of configuration on your router.

Love the software.

I've noticed that when I make a favourites list which includes non freesat channels that I've declared freesat, after time they disappear. Is this issue finger trouble or out of my control.
