Mine was a big Nokia thing...so long ago (10 years ish ) that I don't think people even cared about model numbers then.....it was on Vodafone, well whatever singlepoint was called back then.
Then I got a Philips Fizz on Cellnet.... Then got a pager...it was preferable to Cellnet and Vodafone!!! Then I joined one2one and got a Motorola flip brick...hated it and kept dropping it!!! So my first decent fone was an NEC something or other and I have never left one2one since. JC |

Around 13 years ago I had one of the those big bricks, with a little LED strip where you could see whatever number you were dialling, and that was all. I have no idea who made it, definitly no texting could be done, I don't think it had been invented then... I'll have to try and look up what it was.

Sony "Mars Bar" (CMH-333 ????) on BT Cellnet Contract (0850 25........). A smallish analogue phone, you answered the call by flipping the earpiece up. Unfortunately the aerial was as long as the phone and battery life was about an hour due to poor signal. And daytime calls were nearly a pound a minute!
But it was 1992. |
