According to a story in the Daily Mail yesterday, she apparently always wanted a dog, which surprised me. Then today, there's a story in the Guardian about how in her last days she was entertained by watching a video of a dachshund & puppies.

I loathe Thatcher, but this photograph moved me. It made me think she could have learned a lot about love and kindness had she ever owned a dog.
