I don't understand why anyone would want a sizzler. Before you're halfway through it it's well done and cooked to buggery.

I agree. And it's too small. When I last went I asked for my meal on a standard oval white plate.

what's the food like here? Just had a quick look at the menu and it seems quite cheap.

I wouldn't go if they were offering 100% off.
Looked at the menu, it's ridiculously cheap. I find quite a good rule of thumb is that if there's pictures on the menu it should probably be avoided. |

14oz of gammon steak for 8 quid - really? The fact they seem to offer a big menu can't be a good sign they actually do anything very good/well.

All my family ate at Southfields , a sizzling pub, in Bolton a few weeks ago. It is cheap but the standard of the food was a lot higher than I expected. I paid around a tenner for a ribeye steak from their premium steak range and it was worth every penny. Out of 12 of us only one thought the foood was below par.

There's a Sizzling Pub near my work and if we have an evening event which means I need to go back, I'll eat there. It's basic pub grub, very like Wetherspoons. Cheap, fills you up, social atmosphere.
I wouldn't have the time or money for anything more fancy! |

The food is actually ok, just avoid anything 'sizzling'.

We also ate at the Cotton Kier last week and compared to Southfields it was a rip off. Cod chips and peas just over £8with the smallest portion of peas that wouldn't have filled a dessert spoon and very average chips.I'm sure you won't be dissapointed with Southfields.
