I have bought some sliced (cooked) beef from the deli counter of my local Tesco tonight.

I decided on a different meal for dinner

Any opinions on whether it would be safe for me to freeze it?

Can you think of any reason you shouldn't freeze it. Anyway, it's only a day old so should last in the fridge for a few more. How do you think frozen meat pies are made? The meat taken out before they are frozen and then miraculously it appears back in the pie when it's thawed out. Basically you can freeze anything you want and they are safe to eat. The texture may go funny, but that doesn't affect the safety.

You can't refreeze if it's already been defrosted

We do it all the time. Like with Asda whoopsies cold meat and stuff in bags, or packets. Ham and turkey, beef or chicken etc just shove and remove when needed night before. Most of the time expiry is day of purchase, so it's the only way. M&S and Waitrose is good for their reduced section as well, I've bought cheese and done the same.
Nowt to worry about, it'll be reet (as we say up north )

the food poisoning bacteria in it starts to multiply. If the food is refrozen, the bacteria does not die. They are still there when the food is thawed again.

Read what you have written, go and do some research and come back with a sensible answer
