Candice.........has a sweet voice when needed for the song, and she's the best tonight imo, as she raised my spirits.
![]() 10/10 I was expecting a 10. For me it was just under 9. I think Amber is edging it. But this is for me the most open AI, possibly ever. |

I wish I had seen Candice without peeking at the OP's spoiler.

But you're right re the show being very open this year, which I think could be more to do with beauty being in the eye of the beholder for females, than how they are singing. For me I wouldn't care if they looked like the back of a bus as long as they can sing with emotion. Pity they have to sing outdated songs though, as that doesn't do most of them any favours, imo.

Kree...........Help Me Make it Through The Night...with country music. She didn't make the top note, and has slowed the song too much. 7/10 |

If anyone is wondering that voice is apparently Nicki Minaj shouting "I LOVE YOU" to Candice and her microphone (Nicki's) picked it up!

Meant to say thanks for Thread OP as it was great to be here, and see you tomorrow for the results, which should be interesting.

Hiya FP, think she was on something as I noticed when she was speaking Randy would look over and help her out. Maybe she finds the sho a strain.

PVR man has arrived!
In 3's... Angie kicks off with Anyone Who Ever Had a Heart, sung by Dionne Warwick in USA and Cilla Black in UK. This is a beautiful song with drama and emotion, and Angie sings well, but I have to agree with the judge - Everything is too perfect and pageanty. When she arrived on the show she was a cool piano-playing chick, but AI is making her 'pretty' bland. Amber does a really great job with Say A Little Prayer (Aretha Franklin) similar to the original but with Amber's mellifluous tone. She really makes it look easy. Judges are right on again. Oh God, it's Lazaro next! Noooo, not Close To You (The Carpenters). Really terrible! This needs to stop. |

Wow! Candice's first song was fantastic, but her second song was a real show-stopper. That was a winning performance right there.

Kree sings What The World Needs Now (a hit for Jackie De Shannon). It's a straight-forward song with a beautiful lilt to it and Kree sings it immaculately.
Janelle sing I'll Never Fall In Love Again (Dionne Warwick). Once again she does a really good performance even if her voice isn't as great as the other singers. Alas, not a good song choice to impress anyone with. It's Candice time... Don't Make Me Over (Dionne Warwick). This was fantastic! One of the best of this series. She is a great singer. Everything about her singing is so good. And so ends the Bacharach/David half. Great songwriting don't you think? The originals had great vocal performances but Candice as good as any, and Burt Bacharach would have loved to have Candice singing his songs. (Might still happen.) |

Angie sings Love Came Down by Kari Jobe. From songs that everyone knows to one that I've not heard before. It's so refreshing to hear something modern even if it's not songwriting on a par with Bacharach/David.
Amber sings Love On Top by Beyonce. Hmmm, she looks great in torn denim. The song has a nice groove but is rather formulaic and her tone wasn't exceptional here. Will it be enough this week? Lazaro sings Angels! His tone and diction is nowhere near good enough. Dear oh dear, this is clearly getting embarrassing for the judges. They must be praying he leaves tomorrow. |
