You should open up a dispute on eBay. Don't let them rip you off, get your money back.

I'd get your money back through paypal. That sounds a bit steep anyway.

You'd be surprised. My dad bought something cant quite remember what it was but was listed as needing a new battery. Got it, got the new battery and nope didn't work. Tried to get a refund seller said they couldn't care, filed a case and ebay said it wasn't listed as working because it stated needed battery. Ebay is full of bloody con artists

Yes but I would assume the OP bought the PSP because it was listed as in working order. Totally different cases.

To answer the question.

It depends whats wrong with it, If its a cheap fix then I'd say it would be worth it. However if the cost of the fix starts to get close to the price you paid then its not.

Regarding Ebay, I've been really lucky over the 10 years I've used it to buy stuff as everything I've brought has made it to me & worked perfectly.

I don't see how 'Needing a battery' means it wasn't working.

If you happen to know anyone with a Pandora battery you could try putting that in and see if it springs to life. I was convinced I had bricked mine after a corrupt firmware install but was able to revive it using the battery and re-flash it.

Cheers mate, tbh I have no idea what a Pandora battery is, I have ordered a new battery jic from eBay if that don't work then I will send it to console doctor, they reckon 25 to fix it which I don't think is too bad, if it is beyond economical repar then I can trade it with them against a new psp street

They are basically the same as a normal battery but they have a chip in them or something that allows a deeper level of access into the PSP's firmware through some kind of hardware exploit that existed in the original models. Some people use them to downgrade to earlier firmwares or assist in loading CFW, but they can also be used to recover a seemingly bricked PSP back to its original state.

From what I remember I paid about 15 or so for the battery, instructions and a preconfigured "magic memory stick" with the bootloader and various firmware files on. If you know what you are doing you can make the stick yourself. Obviously not a guaranteed fix but if it is a firmware fault then it might bring some success.

Put a new battery in and it works fine, but won't charge repair cost 25 so I've booked it in for repair have also decided to fit a custom case cost 10 to fit but I have to supply case so will look for one tonight.

Seller has offered me 10 compensation which I have accepted, he hasn't sent it yet though
