This may just be finger trouble (it was kinda late) : last night I answered a post and included a url for a UK hardware supplier (not warez, torrent etc) and in preview my post showed the URL as asterisks not letters. Would the URL show in the forum ? Not knowing how the post would appear, I rewrote the message quoting the name of the company, but am still puzzled.

Novatech's website is a banned URL on these boards if thats what you mean. Guessing there must have been issues in the past with them spamming or something since no other major hardware supplier seems to be censored. It's been like this ever since I can remember.

Some URLs are blocked by Digital Spy using the profanity or **** feature to stop people promoting sites and giving them free advertising or affiliate links.

There are one or two sites it seems DS don't like you linking to.

Yup, it's usually Novatech. Never did find out why they angered DS so much.

Yep - you all guessed the supplier correctly! I spend a small fortune on hardware and just wanted to share acquired knowledge etc. BTW I have no connection with said firm.
