This is from the Japan site, so as always, EU may / may not differ:

Services that will end include:

Weather channel
Digicam Print channel
News channel
Everyone Votes channel
Nintendo channel
Mii Contest channel
Data exchange with friends through Wii Connect 24*

*Includes exchanging of Miis, messages, and data from select games.

Services such as the Wii Shopping channel and the playlog in the Wii Messageboard will not be affected.

Yep!!! never has a service promised so much yet delivered so little!!! .... It had such untapped potential imo.

I don't really care so long as the shopping channel stays, I'm planning on downloading Majora's Mask.

I guess now might be the time to set my Wii to "power off properly" mode rather than "low power WiiConnect24 standby" (or whatever the proper titles are)

My WC24 standby connection has been set to off for some years now as there's never been much of a reason to keep it on.
I play games now and then, but Wii is mostly used for Netflix these days.

I've always had those channels on the last page (kept the first page for game channels), and I never used the message board and the play log was pointless.

Heck I've not used my Wii for AGES

I got rid of mine after powering it up one day, checking the log and realising I hadn't played on it in over a year...
