I love them, unique taste to any other veg. Especially like the baby leeks but they're a bit dear.

I love the smell of raw leek (takes me back to my childhood when my Dad grew them in a greenhouse), but I can't stand the taste of them when solid IFKWIM?
I do love Leek & Potato soup though.

i always use leek instead of onion for anything that's probably going to be eaten as cold leftovers - like frittata or cheesy sauce type pies. You don't get that strong overpowering onion flavour

Oh yes. Quarter and slice them, let them cook very gently in butter until soft. Season, and finish by stirring in a little milk - or cream - or yoghurt (anything like that will do)

Just thought - I might try that with a bit of cream cheese added.

Yes, I am a leek lover. Sauteed with the tiniest bit of oil, salt and pepper, they make a delicious accompaniment to meals. Tasty yet easy. Yum.

Another fan here. Agree about leek & potato soup. Also leeks braised in chicken stock, stir a bit of cream into the stock near the end.

Love them. Quiche with bacon and leek is my favourite. I also do creamed leeks a lot for Sunday lunch.
