There's never really a definite time. But is it usually in May? I can't remember. I think it depends when the auditions with the judges start.
The full line-up is usually announced the week before they start, I think.
But last year, one of the UK seats (Nicole's) wasn't announced until well after they started.

It's usually about two or three weeks before they officially start filming.
Mind you, it's kind of pointless really because we already know the judges. Unless there's a dramatic turn of events, it's going to be Gary, Nicole, Sharon and Louis.

That line up does look a bit underwhelming
They were still filming auditions before they announced anything. They were saying it was Geri Halliwell's job to lose (and she lost it) at the end of May last year.

They will announce them once they have squeezed every ounce of publicity from all the planted stories and rumours that they can.
It is normally about a week or 2 before the judges auditions start, however, if all 4 judges return we normally know by now, as if I remember correctly series 5 - series 6 we found out the panel in end of March/April time as all 4 judges returned.
However series 7-8 we found out very late on as a panel overhaul took place.
So, I think it is pretty obvious a judge will be leaving at the least, so we have a bit of a wait yet, the odd judge may be announced who is returning but we have a wait for all 4 to be confirmed

Cowell himself said, in an interview in last week's Radio Times, that the judges had been chosen. It's just a case of how long they want to drag it out.

And US X Factor will be Demi,Simon,Ne-Yo and Possibly Cheryl but she did say in an interview that she was going to take 6 months out of the spotlight. When does X Factor USA auditions start?

Not sure about auditions but Wiki says it starts September? Certainly fits in with the 6 months comment ....

No she didn't she said on twitter that she was taking a break. and would be back soon, and from this the magazine and newspapers created 6 month break articles.
I thought Cheryl said she'd never go back to x factor it was in her past now. I can't see the x factor US producers wanting her back since it was them who made the decision for her to leave last time round.

Quite often it's very last minute, on the US version Paula didn't sign the contract until hours before being due to judge the first auditions and after Dannii last year chose against returning at the last minute Nicole wasn't selected until the auditions in Newcastle towards the end of the audition process!
I remember Dannii being a last minute addition - announcement wise. I was expecting Charlotte Church.

The position they got themselves into last year is probably why they've already got the line up. It will hardly be a shock when its announced but I imagine they'll wait until Britain's Got Talent is over and probably announce it the day after The Voice's final or something.
I remember Dannii being very last minute the first time around too, apparently he wanted Cheryl that year because she rejected Britain's Got Talent. It would've been interesting to see Cheryl and Sharon on the same panel.
Doesnt the auditions start in June??? That means they must decide by end of May at the very latest. Alhough saying that, I think the judging panel has already been decided. Simon just wants the media hype and speculation to circulate for as long as it can. But to be honest, its pretty obvious now that its gunna be Sharon, Gary, Nicole, and unfortunately Louis. So excited Sharon is back but i really wish Louis would finally QUIT!!!!

In that case then I'd expect all four judges to return. If anyone was being replaced, there'd be a big splash made about it in the press (along with "who's going to replace [x]?") and, although Tulisa was reportedly "axed" and there were always some rumblings that it was going to happen, she denied it, essentially silencing the speculation the show would certainly want.
(Although I'm vaguely aware of Simon "confirming" somewhere that someone had been given the push, but there's been a significant lack of a corresponding media storm so I'm a bit dubious)

Tulisa was booked to appear on The Late Late Show in Dublin on Friday night last and backed out at the last minute when she found out Ryan the host was going to bombard her with questions about x-factor this year. Obviously a subject off limits at the moment !!
