Should foreigners be allowed on Britain's Got Talent?

This season there are quite a few foreigners taking part according to Simon Cowell. In fact, the best act from the first show is apparently not even British!

So what are your thoughts about foreigners taking part in Britains got talent? Should this be allowed or not?

Im of the view that they definately should NOT be allowed. Its called Britains Got Talent so the people taking part should be British citizens or people who are residing in the UK. It's ridiculous people from France or Eastern Europe are allowed to audition and take part in this show even though they have their own local versions in their native countries. Also more foreigners in the live shows means less opportunity for raw British acts to get their chance on the big stage to millions of viewers at home.

Is the British talent pool drying up? Is that why foreigners are increasingly asked to take part in Britains got talent over the last 2 years?

But surely that is against the whole point of the show which is to uncover raw British talent? The foreigners should be left to do their stuff in their own local versions.

Might as well call the show 'Foreigners Got Talent' with the number of acts going through to live shows who arent even British.

For me, it's a talent competition - it doesn't matter what passport they have.

I'd rather see international contestants who are actually talented as opposed to the hordes of British contestants who are just there to be buzzed off in the live shows.

I doubt you'll find any Britons turning up to the Hungarian or Ukranian versions of Got talent. I'd be surprised if there were !

I may be wrong but I honestly dont recall any foreign acts from the first three series. Its only become a recent thing over the last two years where theyve become a more prominent part of the show.

Its about creating a top quality entertainment show on a Saturday night. This isn't a big issue, not any more IMO.

Seeing as the show is called Britain's Got Talent.

If they have a British (dual) passport/proof of UK citizenship = Yes
If not = No.

Put it this way if this was a BBC show called Britain's Got Talent, and foreigners entered it do you think Murdoch & Dacre's newspapers would be happy to turn a blind eye....

Would they fu....

I don't care what country they are from as long as they are entertaining.

Yeah kind of ruins the point of the shows title.

Shame though as there are some great foreign acts.

I would love that!
But would definitely need to cut off singers and kids (under 14's) though. Otherwise there would be far too many acts.

A World's Got Talent would only work if they get together the winners/finalists from all of the Got Talent shows. But it won't work either as it 'makes winners losers'.

I think they should be at least based in Britain or Ireland. The winner of Got to Dance was Canadian but he was based in London. Some of last year's foreign BGT acts came over just for the show. That's not right!

They did a one off show once. It was terrible and Simon spent more time slagging off the other judges than commenting on the acts!

I don't really care where they're from. As long as they're entertaining (in a good way or a bad way) I couldn't give two hoots about what country they are from.

I don't really care where contestants come from. As others have said its called "Britain's got talent" not Britain gave birth to talent.
As long as it is an entertaining show with talented, funny or likeable contestants then I'm happy.
Looking back over the last couple of years some of the most enjoyable acts have come from overseas.

Well if the last act was anything to go by I hope we have many more non-UK contestants.

The Attraction thing was good but they shouldnt be allowed in the show, period. Theyre not British, dont live in Britain or based in Britain. Yes it was good but they should enter their own country's competition. Now some real British talent will miss out on the live shows because of this foreign act,.

We need a talent way-station for people wishing to come to the UK for BGT.

There a fair and humane regime will "test" the inmates for their suitability for the show:

The survivors are given UK citizenship and a delousing. Then on to the show!
