Is the live stream wrapped in a browser or do you have a specific philips app for it?

Sounds like you need flash or silverlight, neither of which are supported by the browser. There will be a list of browser limitations in the manual. Mine lists over 25.

yea, very disappointing and cant replace a PC.
Connect the pc to the tv with an hdmi cable for best of both worlds,
+ use a wireless keyboard with built in trackpad to control it.

on a side note, TV's with gesture control - I guess that if you view a Sky/Freesat/Cable box then the gestures for channel change, as well as in channel on demand is useless (you need to use the box specific remote control). In built gesture control on the tv would only control these features through the built in freeview tuner. Only gesture controls for pic settings, volume, etc would remain intact when using a Sky/freesat/cable box.
Is this right?
Bit pointless if that's the case.
