Can anyone tell me what cable is needed for a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 to allow watching films on TV.

Thanks

You cannot connect the device via cable.

If you have a Tab 2 10.1 and a TV with DLNA capabilities and both are hooked up to your home network then you can stream from the Tab to the TV. If the TV does not have DLNA capability you will need some external device to act as an intermediary.

If you have the tab 2 7.0 that does not have DLNA so cannot stream to the TV or any other device.

Actually I may have been looking at the US versions. The UK version of the Tab 2 10.1 doesn't mention DLNA. However both versions mention something called AllShare which appears to be a way of sharing content. it's not very well described in the manual so it's not immediately clear exactly how content is shared.

My mate using this cable for their tab2, don't think HDMI works on UK model, only US model.

Interesting. If you go to the Samsung wepbage for this lead it says it's not compatible with the Tab 2.

Scroll down to the black bar where it says "Will this work with my device". Enter "Tab 2" and it says no.
