Yes I'd seen him before too. I thought it when I saw him & knew it when I heard his first joke.

Still made me laugh tho'

His condition actually gave him an advantage.. I don't really think it's fair he can joke about disability just because he is disabled. Jimmy Carr and co would get slaughtered if they did it.

But he's not joking about disability in general, he's just talking about himself. And anyone can say whatever they like about themselves!

Oh they will! They are not going to miss out on the PC values attached to putting through a disabled child.

Yes, I thought he was a natural, and very good. I just thought it was a shame he focussed entirely on his disability during the admittedly very short routine. But like you say, there should hopefully be other stuff in the next performance.

If he gets through to the live shows we will see if he is genuinely funny because he will need to do more - a LOT more - than take the rise out of himself and his condition. Even so, he is a likeable lad with a good personality, and could perhaps make it as a comedian as he get older.

The quick witted short jokes were good but he failed miserably at the longer ones.
Over-rated imo.

I was fully prepared to hate him, thinking the whole thing was a sympathy thing for his age and condition...but I found him quite funny, great delivery. With a few years of experience, he could be really good.

I for one don't think he was actually as funny as he made out. Notice they put him on stright after the uterly crap comedian, maybe so he'd appear good. Let's face it, after him any comedian would seem good.

It reminded me of acts in the 70's and 80's. Lenny Henry used to take the michael out of his colour and the audience laughed with it. It's kind of cheap humour.

So anybody who didn't find him funny has no sense of humour? Thanks for that insight!

I thought he was naturally very funny and he was better during the times he wasn't delivering rehearsed jokes and just chatting to the judges/ Ant&Dec. He would be really good at improvising I'd imagine given more time to mature.

He had a personality if that's what you mean. Not really a great comic though.

WHy the standing ovation? He was mildly amusing but both judges and audience gave him sympathy vote.David Walliams "Your funnier than me" boring.

Yeah I think he has a great personality and the potential to be a great comic, but don't think he's quite there yet. Will be interesting to see what he does on the live shows, as I'm assuming from the judges reactions he will be there.

The benefit joke made me smile but the rest of the jokes didn't make me laugh. He has a good personality but I didn't find him that funny.

Made me laugh more than when I went to Birmingham to see Eddie Izzard. That was a comedy desert and cost a packet.

What other programme was the kid on?

No, clearly not. I would have thought it was patently obvious that sense of humour is entirely subjective so some people would have found him funny while some people wouldn't have.

Same here. I just hope that, like others have said, he won't just make jokes about his disability. To me, he's shown that he can do comedy well so he doesn't need to rely on that subject any more.

His jokes were ok but the delivery and timing of them was terrible.

Firstly I thought Oh No not the sympathy vote and I was sorry that I just didn't find him funny at all. the judges were laughing before the punch line and it just wasn't that funny and I found it quite embarrassing and thought that they were patronising him.

I would laugh at disability jokes if the person was disabled who was telling them but not Boyle or Carr doing it for shock value. I really didn't find his material good enough.

It seems the lad was asked to audition after another awards appearance so he was fast forwarded, not actually picked out of the crowd.

I found him quite funny but like others, i wonder if his other jokes are any good. All his routine was about his disability which made me feel like the audience were laughing along with out of sympathy.

Its hard for children and/or people with disabilities on bgt because the audience will lap up whatever they do. If he made a disabled joke and then started telling jokes like that awful comedian, he probably still would have got a standing ovation from the audience.

He really reminds me of someone but not sure who.

Also I have to agree, I can see people getting irritated/frustrated with him further down the line if all jokes are indeed about his disability. He obviously does it to numb the pain which is admirable and he is also very likeable. He seems naturally funny to me and if he actually told jokes/improvised he would fare better. He wont though, and he will grate on me.
