BGT is a TV show and acts can't have control over a TV performance, as there are legal issues in getting the rights to the songs, etc. especially if you want to change/modify it a substantial amount. Add into that dealing with the rights of the songs used on ITV player, YouTube videos, etc and it can get quite messy, hence why BGT/XF often use the same songs from Sony's back catalog that they have all the rights too.

My suggestion, if you want to do things your own way is: don't go on the show. Shows like The Voice, BGT and X Factor are all about the show and not you.

I had to click on the link to remember he was. The name didn't even produce a mental image for me. So that shows you the problem he has for starters. We all like to sometimes slate Rylan and Jedward etc. I ain't the biggest fan of Rylan but I think if you are going to go on this type of show like X Factor, for me the most important thing is the impact you make.
Rylan now has a career because he made a big impact on the show, regardless of talent. My strategy would be to try and get as much publicity as I could if I went on X Factor. That way if you make it far on the show, you could set yourself up for a career in some other role on TV.

It's the usual thing, a 30/40 minute interview about all the positives that have happened since Michael was on BGT and then towards the end he was lulled into a false sense of security and that's the bit that airs.
We're quite disappointed about the interview, it's not how Michael feels about BGT. He feels it's a great thing being on BGT, and it's allowed him to record his music, even if he's not yet signed.
The questions are quite leading... "pressure you were under caused your relationship to break up" that's not referring to BGT pressure, more financial pressure as Michael was on BGT 2 years ago but his relationship has only just broken down in last 3 months.

That is true; and in the case of the dancers I mentioned, the people directing what they should do didn't have a clue about ballroom dancing. Most ballroom teachers/coaches that I know now always advise their students not to go on the show.

I wasn't talking about acts changing or modify records, simply choosing the right recording for their act. When dancers appear on Got to Dance they have complete control over their choice of music and routines whether they are in auditions, live auditions or finals. Those who make the final do get advice, but whether they choose to take note of it or not is down to them.
So does he think if he had not entered by now he would be an International Megaastar and would have sold more records than Elvis?
