If you were put incharge of The X Factor, who would you put on the panel?
Just a fun little thing I was thinking of. If you were incharge of The X Factor instead of Simon Cowell who would you put on the judging panel?
Personally, I'd pick it in a balanced way including people from various sectors of the music industry - radio, production, mainstream and just a wildcard. For example: Chris Moyles: has been around on radio for ages and knows what people like to hear Kim Glover: has worked with Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and managed B*Witched Katy Perry: has had a very successful career and could help to nurture in a new generation Noel Gallagher: classic mean judge and has the credentials to back up what he's saying Who would you pick and why? |

Ok, I am going to be a bit controversial here lol
I would put Fearne Cotton on the panel (ALL WILL BE EXPLAINED) Mutt Lunge Alicia Keys Labrinth Ok so Fearne - she knows about the music era, she would also I think have knowledge of what makes a good act, and she isn't directly from the music industry, meaning she will be viewing it as a viewer, which may make her very popular. She is very witty, and I think it would go down well. Mutt Lunge - I have actually posted about this man before, here is why I think he should be on the panel - he is a record producer, somebody from the behind the scenes music scene, why do they have to already be famous? I would suggest Robert John "Mutt" Lange, he is a huge record producer, he was also part of the rock scene, breaking AC/DC into the limelight, with his talents on "highway to hell". Mutt Lange took it up a notch for their comeback - louder, sleazier, filthier, "Back In Black" was the perfect rock album, except it never made number 1 in the USA. Not a problem, Lange helped the band do that with their next attempt, cementing his place in history forever. He also produced the best selling country album of all time "Come on Over" and married the artist, Shania Twain...now that's legendary. He to me is just what the show needs, you may be thinking is he from a different era of music, but he is also part of the steering wheel behind Maroon 5 and Lady Gaga, what he has done in his life is worth the job, and I think he could put his knowledge to the show, and get a whole new set of people auditioning, and would certainly speak his own mind. Alicia Keys - No explanation needed really, she has a great vocal and people young and old know of her, so they will probably value her opinion. Labrinth - He could be the judge that although young and current to todays music industry, I think the people watching, the other judges and the contestants would value his opinion also, he is a record producer, a singer, and he is british, just what the show needs in my opinion. So there you have it, whilst it may be a rather random panel, I think it would work well. Fearne - The one everybody loves Mutt - The mean judge but with the knowledge Alicia - Valued opinion Labrinth - been on both sides of the music industry (recording and production) |

Enrique Iglesias- Token International star and somebody who's music is routinely purchased by viewers of the show. He'd be quite a big name to anchor the panel around.
Alesha Dixon- Cowell's latest obsession is moving his pawns around the different shows that comprise his empire. I've never thought Alesha is a good fit for BGT, but has the spark and personalty to be a decent enough X Factor judge/ mentor. Duffy- I'm not sure how this would play. She's kind of retired but I don't see that as full time, and I think the X Factor would be the perfect place to launch a comeback. She can sing (and very well) and her songs are often amongst the most popular choices for auditionees. Tinie Tempah- X Factor seems obsessed with finding a credible Urban star, so why not have one of Britian's leading hip-hop lights joining the search? He's a very articulate critic, and is associated with the show already, so could be a breakout star. I think it would be interesting to have 4 performers on the panel, as opposed to an irrelevant/ out-of-work manager/ producer. |

Every day a new topic on this...whatever:
I'm going to be realistic: Gary, Nicole, Mel B, Sharon. That is a realistic panel. Although we all know it will be Gary, Nicole, Mel B, Louis. |

P Diddy would be an interesting choice.
I loved his show Starmaker, and he was an insightful, helpful guest producer on American Idol one week last year. He seems quite into this "launching new talent via reality TV", so he could be a cool (and credible) pick. |
