Last weekend on The X Factor: UK vs US vs OZ...

It was the Quarter Final, and the acts took to the stage with two songs to secure their place in the Semi-Final. Unfortunately, it was too much for Drew and she was eliminated from the competition.

THIS WEEK it's the Semi-Final! Each act will perform two songs from two different themes:

ALBUM COVERS
These are songs which the acts would include on their debut album covered by them

GET ME TO THE FINAL
These are songs which the acts believe will secure them a place in next weekend's Final

As it stands, we still have a UK vs US vs OZ competition, with the Top UK and US Acts being present in the forms of Kitty Brucknell and Stacy Francis!

Kitty, it is the semi-final, and you just gave us a semi-final performance. Whilst I would not really expect that to be on your album it was still an amazing vocal that you gave us tonight and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Amazing well done.

That's the second week on the trot that you've opened the show and you've opened the show in style tonight! Over the weeks you've shown versatility, that you've got heart and a heck of a lot of passion. We've seen you do rock numbers, ballads and songs where you can really get the emotion of the songs across. You have an amazing voice and I thought that was another stunning performance from you this evening. You've kicked off the semi finals in style and I hope that the voters continue to support you this week and make sure that you make it into the final line up. You've been a great act to mentor and I'm proud that people have supported you across the weeks, you've never graced the bottom 2 and have been one of the most consistent acts in this series' competition. You've demonstrated in that performance just why you are still in the competition and just why you need to make it into the final.

Hey Kitty, well done for making the Semi-Final. When I think of a Semi-Final show, that'll be the time to start pulling out big performances. Now with you, I thought that this was very nice and quite beautiful from you. I think you've made a very good start and I hope your second song will be even better later. For now though, I am very impressed with how far you've come.

Christina, against all odds you are the last girl standing and I am so happy for you. Tonights theme was album songs basically, and whilst I think it was a nice choice, I would have loved for you to go all pop-rock chick on our asses just like I know you can do, nevertheless, a great performance tonight, great vocal, bravo.

Over the past couple of weeks the girls category has taken a bit of flack, however you're the last one standing, you haven't been in a sing off and seem to be very popular. Last week I didn't think you had the strongest week, however this week I think you're back, you're strong and you mean business. I loved the opening of the song and thought you started off at a very high level, because of that I did at times feel as though the chorus was a bit held back. However that performance was about twenty times better than your performances in the last show and I am very much looking forward to your second performance tonight. I think you've upped your game and are definitely in with a chance of making it to next week final! Well Done

Oh my word...you just knocked me right down, girl! For weeks and weeks, you have remained a strong contender and tonight, this was our chance to make you stand-out and when you were singing, you were setting the stage and you pulled out a terrific performance by the end of it all. You're my last girl standing but you have been one of the strongest acts still here and I want you to enjoy your second song later and that you rock your way to the final.

David's comments: Mitchell Callaway
You made it through last week's show despite some major criticisms from us as judges. However you're here in the final 5 and still rocking it for the Overs. You didn't have the strongest of shows last week and like Christina that was miles better song choice for you than the last couple of weeks. My only real criticism of the song as a whole is that it felt a little MOR for a final, however you managed to get your vocal tone and power over throughout the song and showed just what sort of an artist you are. I'm looking forward to see what else you've got in the bag to get to the final. Good 1st performance though and I think you are very much the dark horse of the competition.

Mitchell, we were very country tonight mr bombastic! And you brought the effing house down! It was amazing in my opinion, you put your heart and soul into that song, yeah snatched, I loved it, it showed us your vocals and oozed with amazingness. So proud of you

Mitchell, I think you have been the biggest surprise of the Series. I don't think any of us were expecting you to make it this far but you have and here you are. I have to agree with David and say that I think this song could've been saved for the final but nonetheless, it was quite an impressive song choice and I hope you do something stronger with your second song later.

Declan! You've made it to the semi final and managed to stay in after last weeks bottom 2 appearance. I have to say that as always I'm overwhelmed at the support you've received this series and I think we both thought you may not have enough appeal to make it to the latter stages of this competition. However 7 weeks on and only 5 acts left and you are up there still doing your thing! We went through several song choices this week, however settled on this one as it shows in my opinion just how far you have come. The thing about that song is that it builds up throughout the song and enables you to put emotion into the first half of that song and let it build up before it drops and builds more. You totally blew me away tonight with the vocals and the way you handled the lyrics of the song. Like Kitty you have been a fantastic act to mentor and I would love it if you would make the final and so your journey in the competition would be complete. However whatever happens in the voting tonight you've been great throughout the whole series and deserve your place in the competition!

Declan, I loved it, I have always been quite sceptical when it came to you as I was never a full on Declan fan, but tonight, you turned me (settle down, don’t be rude) and I am a fan now, amazing, I WILL be purchasing your album mate! Well done

Declan, I think with you, you have been a real wild darkhorse and you survived the public vote so well done for making it to the Semi-Final. I thoroughly enjoyed that one so much and I was listening to that song whilst smiling, which is rare of me if I say so. You just gave one big comeback after your sing-off performance last week and I hope you have a lot left for your second song because I think we could have a surprise on our hands later tonight. Well done to you.

Am back

Stacy, I'm going to have to be brutally honest here. I was not feeling that performance tonight...sorry to say. The song and the arrangement you had did not fit with your vocal range and using a performance that was on one of the real shows didn't really show that much idea and creativity from your mentor. I really hope your second song will be way much better than this, because I have really enjoyed you up until now but this wasn't good.

Stacy Francis
I really thought you were a gonner before last week's show, however you completely nailed it with two great performances and Tom showed just why you should be here. I have been quite critical of some of your song choices and again I just feel that as a song/ sound that you would record as part of your album it is very dated and lacking in relevance for me. It would've been good for this to be used as an opportunity for you to really show that you can integrate the Stacy Francis sound on something modern. However what we get is a dated power ballad and for me it feels after coming two steps forward last week we are now 3 steps back. I hope your second performance is better tonight as I think after round 1 that was probably the weakest performance of the final 5.
