A game like this just isn't worth the aggro... Another reason for hanging up the judges cap after next week

I'm just hanging up the DS cap until June after next week. I need a break, this shows run since January with a two week break between series 1 and 2. Should've waited longer tbh

Ah well, we live and learn.

On the subject of taking breaks, once I start hosting again by May, you're going to love the plans I have for the games coming up this year.

“Listen, yohinnchild, tonight the show didn't go the way you wanted, and the viewers didn't agree with you, move on, stop going on about the loss of Christina & Declan”

To be honest, I’ve been pretty silent on the whole thing outside of asking how many votes there was and my initial reaction. The ‘Viewers’ obviously have their own view and in a similar way to My Blobby going to number 1 there is no accounting for taste in such things. Having spoken to Jack, I now have a greater understanding as to why your acts in particular have been doing well and why the vote is skewed in such a way that you have your acts in the final. And really it’s no wonder that Steve and I have lost so many acts over the course of the last couple of weeks and none of your acts have gone bottom 2 considering the nature of some of the votes. If I had known the votes were being skewed in such a way then I would’ve only ranked/ voted for my own acts in order to get them as far as possible instead of ranking all the acts; even when I have thought them to be either poor or not worth voting for. However not ranking all acts seems to go against the spirit of these games in general IMO.

“Sure it was a disappointment that they went but the fact you didn't even say 'congratulations' or 'well done' to Stacy is nothing but unprofessional.”

By now you should know my commenting style and what I am like in all games; if I like something I will say I like it, if I don’t like something then I going to say why I didn’t like it. This is a small forum game, therefore talking about people being ‘unprofessional’ seems a little over the top to be honest. My main disappointment is seemingly someone who barely turns up to the live shows, writes just a line of comments has 2 acts in the final rounds whereas people who seem to put a heck of a lot more effort in are out – and where I mean effort I’m not talking about song choice I’m talking about effort in making comments on the acts, turning up for the shows and actually inputting into the show. I’m not going to say ‘congratulations’ to you on something which I don’t think was deserved, similarly, I’m not going to say ‘well done’ if I don’t think that something has been done well.

“just focus on the act you have left and move on! The whole fact you didn't post your odds because you don't agree with the final 3 is pathetic,”

The reason for not posting the odds in this matter is because they are pointless anyway; 100% wrong the majority of the time; everyone who was put favourite has gone so it felt it was pretty meaningless to post them. But to indulge you in this matter:

Winning Act

Stacy = 1/2
Mitchell = 2/1
Kitty = 10/1

Winning Mentor

Tom = 1/100
David = 100/1

“just move on gosh”

Already have done, especially as Jack’s PM has helped me to clarify just why what has happened has happened. To be honest am only replying as you posted something which named me directly.

Quote:
“Not trying to cause an argument I'm just saying”

You clearly were trying to gain some form of response otherwise you wouldn’t have posted in the first, and if you are similarly thinking I’m trying to cause an argument, I’m not, I’m just saying what I see/ how I feel regarding the points which you raised in your post.

Just in case anyone actually thinks that me saying I’m basically quitting after next weeks final, then it doesn’t actually have anything to do with this results in fact has been on my mind since about show 4 and have even mentioned it to a couple of other forum members. I haven’t got the time or energy (or be bothered with the pettiness) that these types of shows require. I was actually enjoying this series a lot more than the first series, however to be honest over the last three weeks my enjoyment has taken a severe nosedive and in a way will be glad once next weeks final has passed.

Sorry for the long post - When I started... I couldn't stop

Roll on the final!

Tbh, I don't even care what happened anymore.

I'm going to have accept the fact that I am NEVER going to win a game, not even when I have the best category.

In regards to the voting, if you believe I skewed the votes you are wrong, never have I only voted for just my act, I always voted for EVERY act, so if there you are talking about me then I suggest you find my the proof as I cannot remember a week where I did do that.

It is clear that our commenting styles are 100% different, as you write much more than me, that is clear, but what I write is what I think whether they be short, long, just a word so be it.

The whole odds debarcle, I have never done a show on this forum before and certainly not with you, so when I seen you done the odds each week I enjoyed them, and I simply took it in the wrong context when you said about how the bookies did no odds anymore, I took it in the way you don't want to kind of way? Not that there was not a point

Of course I was trying to gain a response but not an argument. I respect your comments each week and read them and try to take them on board, I will use my mistakes I did on this show (obviously not writing enough) and work on that on any other show I embark on.

I hope this has not caused frosty blood between us? And to be frank, I cannot be arsed with an argument do not have the energy lol.

I am sorry if you think my acts or I do not deserve a place in this weeks final, and I think it would have been excellent if all 5 of the acts could have gone into the final, as I was a great fan of Christina especially, and 100% expected her to go into the final over Stacy, but that is not the way things have worked out

They were skewed as 1 voter just voted for your 2 acts - therefore as your acts received 5pts and 4pts respectfully and the other acts received 0 points it skewed the results.

Seeing as 1 point separated the acts (as Jack mentioned before), this skewing almost certainly caused a different final line up.

My own personal view; if you only vote for 2 acts then the top ranked act should get 2 pts, the other act 1. If you vote for 3 then the top ranked acts get 3pts, 2nd place 2pts etc etc. Not only would that stop the skewing of results, but also encourage voters to vote in full. However is really a comment for another time.

Outside of what I have already said, I have nothing further to add other than bring on Sunday and we can get the final done and dusted

I can assure you I know nothing of this, and personally do not see it as fair, every act should be voted for
yohinnchild
15-04-2013
I didn't say you did - I was just stating the facts as they are - to be honest the vote has been done, Jack made the decision to count the vote in and give the acts the full amount of points.

Therefore the finalists have been picked - we've aired everything so lets just get on with the final and then we don't have to talk about it anymore

After all the drama caused by last nights eliminations and me now doubting whether my calculations are correct or have been skewed I am considering redoing last nights vote to present it in a more fair way. What would be your thoughts on this?
