I'd suggest if it made you 'vom' then they aren't for you however they're served.

Angels on horseback. That's how i was introduced to Oysters as a child. Or stuffed Oysters ( that might be the same as Rockefeller which I'm not familiar with).

I love all other seafood - it was more of the texture

Rockefeller is when they're served on the half shell, covered in herbs, butter sauce and breadcrumbs and then baked.

I love oysters raw though. They're definitely not to everyone's taste though.

Nice done in their shells on the BBQ with vinegar and finely chopped scallions.

I'm not over keen on them - though they are much better with a squeeze of lemon or dash of tabasco.
They should taste of concentrated sea water so if it didn't it may have been off.

I've tried them raw - didn't like em (nor did my wife, who loves seafood). We also tried them in France, grilled with lemon and garlic (and maybe breadcrumbs, I forget, a few years ago) and they were much more palatable.

OH loves them but I was never interested. Eventually he persuaded me to have one, raw, and it was OK but not something I'd bother with again. We used to live near a very good Chinese restaurant though and they deep fried them in batter and they were nice.

Oysters are very much Emperor's new clothes. I tried 'em recently on Greenwich Market, I just was underwhelmed. (Not helped by getting a razor-sharp chunk of shell embedded in my gum on the first one.) Give me a nice crab salad or some lobster any day.

Deep fried with a spicy dipping sauce is the only way I can eat them. I just gag when they're served raw.

Usually if they're off you will definitely find out about it.

You have to give raw oysters a chance ....it's unlikely you'll like them first time but you should soon discover they are really quite delicious and addictive .Have them with a shallot vinaigrette, buttered rye bread and a glass or 3 of dry white wine .Muchos yummy
