Good result, and I agree with the posters above - the Jackson family need to let this go and focus on MJ's children, who need to be surrounded by a stable family unit.

The jury spokesperson said the passed few days had been stressful. Because they weren't able to talk o each other 5 months they spent the first few hours letting off steam.

They voted on question one 'Did AEG hire Murray' and it was immediately 12-0 that he was hired by AEG. They discussed it further there were some changes of mind back and forth and took 3-4 votes.

On Question two they immediately voted 12-0 that Murray was competent for what he was hired to do, ie act as a GP for Jackson & family as he had done from 2006. The leading juror said another juror pointed out the ramification of their decision so they discussed it further, and again today and finally voted 10-2 in favour of AEG. He made it clear the juror believed Murray acted unethically but that wasn't the question.

The agreement was said to be a 'biggy' in the juries decision.

Greg the leading juror said there were no winners and said, "Someone had to die for us to be here."

I would have said Yes to that question based on the facts that they ...

negotiated the fee,
drew up the contract including themselves in it (disregarding Murray request for a change),
agreed to back date his pay (ie recognising that he was already employed)
and the comment from the CEO about reminding Murray who he was working for
Does seem that way as Kathy Jorrie was drafting the agreement with terms she felt acceptable to AEG.

I am glad that the (IMO) right verdict was reached and hope the family do not try to appeal the decision.

also I would like to express a massive thank you to i4u for all the updates he has provided.

I only saw online late last night that the Jacksons had lost the case and althogh I'm a MJ fan I'm glad that they have,I also think they should now let it go and just put all that effort into guiding MJs children through life as normal as they can,its those kids I feel so sorry for

As for them loosing the law suit is there an actual thread apart from here ? Thanks

I'm an MJ fan and I am not surprised that they lost the case. I was appalled that they brought it, because it brought out all the tales of drug abuse etc. and the lasting impression for some that MJ cause his own death. Of course fans who followed closely everything know that the pain killing drugs he became addicted to were not to blame, there were none in his system, and none in the house, which begs the question of whether or not he was in relapse at the time of his death.

MJ's family were ill advised, Murrey was competent to act as GP, and MJ sanctioned his employment, sadly because he trusted him. The family should have brought a wrongful death suit against Murrey, they would have won, and it would have prevented Murray from keeping any money he makes from interviews, books etc.

Bringing it against AEG just demonstrates that they were after money, not justice and it served to invade MJ once again.

I second that, thanks to i4u.

I'm surprised this trial ever went to court. MJ's death was a tragedy for his family but ultimately he was an addict who covered up his addictions and manipulated doctors into giving him what he wanted. They were just professional drug dealers.
