Cloud storage

Anyone got knowhow cloud storage and, if so, what do you think about it?

Not used KnowHow. To be honest I get by using dropbox, I use it quite a bit and fits my needs. I also have a gmail, skydrive, box, mega and copy cloud service accounts. I just seem to use dropbox the most. Guess I am used to using it, so stick with it.

The other cloud services I use to backup my dropbox account. That way if dropbox is ever down, I will still have access to my data via other cloud services.

If Dropbox is down you still have access to your data as its also stored locally (on PC and Mac anyway)

Which is fine if you are at home.

I am well aware that backing up my data to another cloud service is overkill. However no harm in doing it.

After checking I have just found out that if you mark your files as favorites in the mobile versions of the Dropbox app then they those files are available offline also.

With my luck the files I wanted wouldnt be marked as favourites. I have 57.6GB of space in my dropbox account of which I am using 24.3%. Its not practical to store them all on my phone. Nor from a security point of view is it a good idea to store, some of my personal stuff on my mobile.

I have a click free hard drive, and find that exceptionally reliable. Currys have an offer on for norton 360 and knowhow cloud for £39.99, so was wondering whether to go for it. Think I'll just go for regular norton for £19.99 - big difference if you don't need both products.

Since you can get plenty of cloud storage for free (and certainly cheaper than £20), I would not go for the knowhow cloud offering.

Google drive offer 25GB of space for $2.49 (around £2) per month. However using something like Mega (not the best imo) gives you 50GB for free. Copy offer 5GB free, and then 5GB for every person you invite. If you use someone elses link to open an account you get 5GB free as well, so start of with 10GB free (I have a link if you want one ). It depends on how much space you will need, as to what the best solution is for you.

Ive never used Knowhow cloud but to be fair their offer of 500GB for £30 per year is very cheap. The same offering from Dropbox would cost you $50 per month. Although its unlikely most people be backing up 500GB of data online.

updated I have just found this website with an very bad review and lots of bad user comments http://www.iainsmithcoaching.co.uk/m...-cloud-fiasco/

Seems like you get what you pay for.
