Looks like the Humax support site site has been discontinued. No more updates then.

Looks like the Humax website has had a makeover and some bits haven't been finished yet. There is a Help section that promises downloads, manuals and FAQs but so far seems to have nothing available,

Let's not jump to conclusions and start misleading rumours, as Chris says there are links that don't do what they say so it looks like a work in progress to me. I think it would be very foolish of Humax if they didn't have at least an archive section.

Releasing something that is not fully functional is par for the course for Humax.

I find that clown woman on the home page quite scary, is that blood on her fingers?

It's official, see reply to my email from Humax.

These models are discontinued models. The will still be supported from contacting us but there are no software updates or manuals available for these models anymore.

Thank you for contacting Humax Support.

Hi Raymond,

I see that the software release notes for the 9150, 9200 and 9300 have vanished from your web site. (404 page not found Error)

Shall I take this a sign that the above range of models are no longer supported?

It's very unusual for there to be no manuals and the latest f/w version even if no future updates are required.

maybe someone's wires have been crossed.

The new site is obviously not fully functional yet so I would take what Reymond says with a pinch of salt at this point in time, but we will see.

The English is very bad.
Just a guess, but maybe this means people can request the manual or firmware to be sent by email.
On the new Humax site, if you search for 9150, 9200 or 9300 you get no hits, so I suspect Raymond may be telling the truth.

Also if you do a search in google for "site:www.humaxdigital.com 9200" all the hits (I tried) are dead links

But similarly there are no software releases, installation videos, user manuals or FAQ available from the links of the models that are displayed on the site.

It's only official for those 3 particular Humax models which makes sense as they're discontinued.
Can't comment on the other 2, but they went as far as the hardware would allow with the 9200T so no sure what support is expected be offered on such an anciant PVR.

Agreed.

What evidence do you have on this?

I think this is not a good situation. The 9300 which I have still has a number of firmware bugs in it and they don't even announce formally that they are not giving us fixes.

I think this will be the last time I even buy a Humax product.

I agree it is very sad that we find out simply by the web pages disappearing.

Remember that BT YouView box is a rebadged Humax and I think the TalkTalk YouView box might be as well.

The Talk Talk box is a Huawei made in China.

I think that might be for new customers as just googled and BOTH Humax and Huawei YouView boxes are mentioned on the TalkTalk web site.

Forgot top mention earlier, my mother-in-law has a Sony DVD/HDD PVR which was originally twin tuner (now single due to DSO) and it is a right pain to use. To set a program for series link takes approx 8 button presses (after finding it in the guide which is also pathetic, but that's another story).

I originally chose Humax because it was so simple to use and I certainly would buy from them again.

I don't think they have said there will be no more fixes released. Only a couple of weeks ago Barry over on MyHumax.org was looking for testers for a new software version for the 9150/9300 to fix at least one of the known issues.

It wasn't ever 'twin tuner', the fact it's a DVD/HDD means it's a DVD recorder rather than a PVR so is only single tuner.

Having analogue and digital tuners, only ONE of which can be used at a time, doesn't make it twin tuner.

DVD recorders have always been hard to use, PVR's are MUCH simpler.

Humax have a reputation for doing this sort of thing even pulling support for models still on sale through the primary distribution channel which older readers may remember made me very, very cross at the time.

F2-FOX T? Certainly agree with you on that one.

Not surprised you can't find support for F2-FOX T?

Never heard of such a model. Is it a non UK model ?

No. It is an STB of around the 9200T era. Last firmware left it losing EPG info after a few hours.
