I think it was mutual though. She didn't want to come back and they didn't care to have her back.
It wasn't as though she was fired outright.

Ah, it would've been fun to have Kelly back on the UK show alongside Nicole, the two of them trying to outdo each other with wacky phrases! Presuming that most of the American audience won't have seen Kelly on the UK show, she can recycle all her one-liners for them!

I always thought Kelly would've been more suited to the American show. Nicole seemed to get the whole 'vibe' of the British version but Kelly really struggled with it (not that you can blame her after the whole Misha thing).

I think Simon and Kelly would be a good team as well.

Kelly is a very strong woman and on the UK show was never afraid to stand up for herself or the acts she supported. There was also the time when she stood up to the girl group when one of them told Tulisa she can't sing, I also remember her arguing with a contestant as they were leaving the stage, she was even out of her seat and looking down the backstage bit.

I don't think she'll let Simon walk allover her like so many of the other female judges do, I think it will end up being a brilliant pairing.

Tulisa did seem to be more popular than Kelly in her first year though. That's why they kept her. It's only the last season that she lost favour with the public.

The problem I had with Demi and Simon is that it felt a bit forced. I think Kelly would be a bit more natural, so I hope she ends up sitting with Simon if she does end up getting the job.

Not as awful as Gary and Louis.

And Tulisa, who couldn't recognize one of Aretha Franklin's biggest hits

Hopefully this is true. She was the only judge in 2011 that I liked. She stood up for her acts when the other judges, Louis and Tulsa, sabotage her acts so Tulisa's could win. Pathetic. Really hope she joins the US version.

Everyone's a winner. Dannii on the Aus show, Kelly on the US show, Nicole on the UK show.

Interesting news! (if true)

I always wondered why Simon didn't hire her for the US show in the first place because she's very well known over there.

As others have said, I thought she was great during the UK show's auditions. I don't think it was her fault things didn't work out - it wasn't just her, everything about the Uk show was a mess during the live shows that year.

I know I've sounded like a broken record saying that I think Cheryl will end up on the US show again this year, but a Simon, Demi, Kelly, Ne-Yo panel looks really good imo.

I think she'll be perfect for the US show. Like others have mentioned, the mean spiritedness of the UK show wasn't up her street. Looking forward to getting her back, she was probably one of the best mentors across any of these shows and always had interesting song choices for her acts. Little Mix had their break out performance after taking her advice and picking an En Vogue song, I think people often forget that.

Oh my gosh, I agree so much with this.

Kelly was a great mentor for this reason. At least she supported her girls on twitter when they were releasing their first singles. Misha and Amelia have both said that they can call Kelly up whenever they want to for advice. So sweet. 'Don't Let it Go' was LM's best performance (they've said it themselves too - their breakthrough performance).

Kelly knew her stuff. Tulisa was just blagging it throughout. Silly woman.

Wonder where Mrs O's current problems leave her too, could well even now be a gap in the uk.

Mel B isn't doing Australia's Got Talent anymore, so if Sharon pulls out then we'll end up with Mel instead.

Can't see it happening, her popularity suffered on the UK version and there's always going to be Beyoncé comparisons.

It's not the UK version though it's the US version the same could have been said about Nicole she was not very liked on the US version but she went to the UK version a year later and was loved on that so I think the same will happen for Kelly if this is true as she is liked in the US more so than Nicole anyway.

There's no real proof of that though.....

The UK version is much more of a pantomime than than the US version. Nicole gets British humour, its why shes so successful over here, Kelly doesn't. She took it quite seriously and the US version is quite a serious show. So Nicole in the UK and Kelly in the US seems a good fit.

Kelly was going to be the one to get the chop if Cheryl wanted to return to the UK version after she was sacked from the US version. It would be interesting to know whether Kelly would have ended up on the US version from series 1 with Nicole staying as host.

Well there kinda is Kelly was apart of one of the biggest American girl groups Destiny's Child they were like America's sweethearts. Where as Nicole although was sucessful with the Pussycat Dolls got a lot of stick that's why she has never had one solo single that's done well in the US. And has not even released her last few singles over there and her first album never Killer Love never got released there.

Beyoncé was seen as an "American sweetheart, Kelly wasn't. PCD were really successful all over the world, that was down to Scherzinger as a lead singer. PCD would have flopped without her. She chose to scrap her first album and Killer love wasn't released because of her management. But Scherzinger has a lot of support from her fans in the US.

Yes Beyonce got the most love as she was the lead singer but the group as a whole was loved as well. And yes while I agree PCD would have flopped without Nicole she is still not that liked in the US. You go on US forums and they brand her as fake, not genuine and Flopzinger. I'm not making this stuff up either as I really do like Nicole and I think she is a great judge on the UK Factor but she is not that liked in the US. Also why do you think her first album never got released there as the singles were not doing well over there. I even saw her say in a interview that the people didn't want her music they wanted the Pussycat dolls music so that's why she went back to the dolls after her first album originally Her name is Nicole got scrapped.

Kelly wasn't chopped from the X Factor UK, she left on her own. She was fed up in the latter stage.
And big deal if there are Beyonce comparisons-- there always is.. It seems folk are reluctant to view 2 black females from the same group as individuals.

Even at Kelly's "worst" she was better than Tuna.

You could say that about every member of Girls Aloud.

Agree to disagree.......

If people didn't want her music, why is she still recording? Because her fans are buying her music. Scherzinger is the only PCD member that has a successful music career. She chose to scrap her album. Scherzinger didn't go back to PCD, she's has been doing solo events ever since and is a popular hit making artist.
