Why was the XF US's 2nd Season so short?

I swear they're never usually that short? They had too many double eliminations this time...I felt the live shows went too quickly and many of the acts were unable to sing survival songs to help themselves. Normally on the UK version, there's 10 weeks. But on the 2nd season of the US version, there were only 8 weeks! Why did they do that?

small audience!

The 3rd season will have a WAY better audience since The Voice and American Idol will both be over.

Not only that, because of the Baseball games as well.

Because the truth is that FOX never really had a space in the schedule for it. They've tried to squeeze it in around the baseball and before Idol but after summer and it just doesn't work. The ratings showed that they basically lost five tenths in the 18-49 demo due to the baseball break (and related scheduling mess). Given where the ratings were, that was five tenths they really wouldn't have wanted to lose. And it will continue - FOX fall schedules are routinely screwed up by baseball and there is no sign of that changing.

The Voice won't be, it will be running for two seasons again this year.

The baseball screw up ruined it. Also, the 2 week break they had before the live shows were a complete waste of time. It lost all the momentum it had. That`s why they were forced to continue programming on Thanksgiving and that`s why double eliminations happened.

I hope they really fix this this season

US fall TV is a mess. If a baseball game goes overtime, a show like XF gets cancelled for the night.

But in TV land, execs don't care about the success rate of the talent these shows produce, all they care about is ratings- and The Voice is delivering in the US where the X Factor is failing

Tbh the US version is still a mess...though the 2nd series has been much better than the 1st. Tacky judges, horrible hosts and really stinky banter is prevalent on that show, Khloe and Mario are just horrible. It makes the UK version (as somebody pointed out earlier) look like a work of art. The US one is so budget.

the winner was a fat cowboy... the season 1 winner was dropped without making an album.. lets hope season 3 winners actually sells more than 1 album copy because both of them have yet to do so..
