I found this site, I think it is correct. You can check iTunes from various countries.

http://www.livepopbars.com/lpb1024.p...rt=34&Albums=1

UK: 397#
Ireland: 92#

I think this means nothing as the single will be out in a month - it will matter more once the single is released.

I think it is not that bad since:

-the radio tour doesn't have major radio stations
- it was only recently put on iTunes so not a lot of people know about it (capitol records wrote only 1 tweet about it)
- his music video isn't released
- and like I said - the EP will be released in a month so no wonder people aren't in a hurry to order it yet

I would be more disappointed if today was 25th August and I saw this position.

It is still a very good he is strongly holding on to no.4 on Amazon's Bestsellers Singles list, while he is at no.3 on Hot New Releases.

i see..

maybe because i am comparing it too much with 1d's new song... i am just thinking that was the same intensity before during westlife's earlier years, the only difference is there is no social media 10 years ago like facebook, twitter and youtube! if there was i think westlife was able to conquer the usa too..

one more difference, westlife song in their earlier years were just epic the best! not trashy like today's.. peace to one direction fans

Oh no, don't even try to compare Shane with 1D - I honestly think 1D are at the stage where they could have released a song of them whistling and it would have huge sales.

One thing we also need to consider is that Shane is starting his career after being 14 years in Westlife - they were hugely popular in the heydays but it is completely normal that this kind of intensity decreased of the years - what I mean by that is, had Shane started his career back in 2004 like Brian did, I'm sure that no.1 would be guaranteed as Westlife still had the hype. So it is normal that It is a little harder for Shane right now.

And I completely agree with your comment I bolded. Like I said the other day: the social media certainly helped 1D to become popular around the world - there is no need for heavy travelling abroad when the fans spread the word for you - Youtube and Twitter are gold for singers these days. Since this isn't about 1D, I'm sure no one will jump on me here when even go this far and say that they probably wouldn't have cracked America without the social media.

And of course I agree with your last comment - westlife never had such juvenile and immature songs like Kiss you, Live While We're Young or Best Song Ever. Everybody can say what they want about Westlife but at least 3-4 songs of theirs are and will be remembered, I think these are Flying Without Wings, World Of Our Own, When You're Looking Like That, as well as their versions of You Raise Me Up and Uptown Girl because I hear those versions more than originals on radios today. However, I would also add I'll See You Again even if it wasn't a single - that song touched so many people, certainly not just WL fans. Just look at this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7IbQyG9PL4

It has 5 million views and people are writing comments every day! - the last comment was just 4 hours ago.

So far it looks like 1D on the other hand will be remembered only for the huge hit What Makes You Beautiful. It will stay that way if they don't mature their sound.

This is slightly OT but I'm sure you won't mind as we are all WL/Shane fans

Hovering in the mid #200s (258-268 really) today on the album chart so it's climbing by the day which is great. It's worth keeping an eye on it to see if the radio tour continues to have an effect and hopefully the video will boost it too.

I wonder if this Friday we'll get another preview, love both songs so far!!

When I checked this afternoon, it was even 215#

I have a feeling we will have another preview. It would certainly make sense to preview each song every Friday until the release date + the reveal of the music video.

the only weapon that shane filan should have is to release a great great song, a song that will be liked by all, not just a westlife-fan. so far, everything to me are very likable to achieve that, hoping to hear more great i mean greater songs from him

something like bruno mars' or jason mraz's appeal... he has the voice and the talent! just one GREAT SONG...

I HOPE HE RELEASES A BALLAD TOO.. that's his strength ")

anyways i visited http://www.livepopbars.com/lpb1024.p...rt=34&Albums=1 it's #239 there..

And now he is #57 and 11# in Ireland, thats amazing!
It must have helped that Shane posted on Facebook that the single is available also on iTunes - it is good to spread the news now and then because I'm sure not everybody knows about it yet

What wonders a little promo can do. Shane also gave info on Twitter 2 hours ago, the EP is now:

UK 29#
Ireland #5

If he keeps reminding people, especially during the release week, I won't be surprised if he ends up at 1#!

Shane will reveal a music video tomorrow - this will definitely also help with higher chart position.

He is still climbing by the way:

25# UK
3# Ireland

Thanks! I know of this site but it annoys me there is no search bar where you can type artist's name - I looked for Shane but I couldn't find him so thanks

Yeah you just change the shanefilan to whichever artist you like so change it to http://kworb.net/itunes/westlife.html for westlife etc.

Shane sang Once on the radio.

I think it is a lovely ballad and it has a very nice lyrics and message behind it.

wow! the power of social media promotion!!!

i am positive that when the video is out and plus more and more radio promotion, and when the song actually played on different music video shows, it will get an even higher charts position.. hopefully in the official uk top 100 charts

What figures? You mean the chart positions once the video is out? Just making sure I understood you correctly

I'll go slightly off topic now - I don't want to start another thread and read stupid comments by some people.

Have you heard that Nicky is probably going solo?

Nicky launched his website today

http://nickybyrne.com/

It is very nice, I like it a lot. As you can see here: http://nickybyrne.com/stay-tuned/ he is making music

This will be interesting to see and hear - I never expected him to go solo because he never expressed the desire to do so. And lets be honest, his voice is good but not very strong.
HOWEVER, if Mark Owen from Take That who has such an annoying vocal can be a solo artist, why not Nicky? If he writes his own music, I'm sure he will adjust his vocal to his own abilities - he did sound good on Butterfly Kisses, Tell Me It's Love, You make Me Feel after all.

However, maybe it is not a solo career as he says project. Whatever it may be, I'm very interested.

wow! that's great, he may not have the best vocal abilities but he has the strongest appeal...

you make me feel is a great song, it just sounds perfect
