I am amazed not to see an appreciation thread on here for Laura Mvula who is the best artist that i have heard in many a while. She has a wonderful voice, and her material is so original So lets go.

Laura has had some very successful gigs in the USA which is great to see. Her fan base is rising rapidly.
laura will be apperaring at the Radio 1 big weekend in Derry on May 26th which will be broadcast on the Radio 1 website and BBC 3.
Got my tickets to see her later this year. Definitely an artist to keep an eye (ear?) on. She draws on a wide array of influences to make some truly interesting and heartfelt music. Certainly one of the highlights on the current series of Later...
I managed to see Laura Mvula supporting Paloma Faith at the Liverpool Empire Theatre earlier this month, She was excellent live- I immediately downloaded her album later that evening

It was great to see Laura on BBC Breakfast this morning, and i have huge respect for her for discussing the difficulties that she has been having with anzieties attacks since she was a teenager. Her album is just incredible.
