Problem with ES File Explorer / Nexus 7 / Windows Explorer

I searched with Google but couldn't find a solution to my problem, so I'm hoping someone here can help me!

I have a batch of photos on my PC (downloaded from my phone) which I want to upload to my Nexus 7.

Under sdcard/Pictures I created a new folder using ES File Explorer, but I can't see it in Windows Explorer on my PC (Nexus 7 is connected via USB). There were already two folders (cache and Screenshots) under the Pictures folder and these are visible in Windows Explorer.

I tried restarting Windows Explorer, hitting F5, and disconnecting and reconnecting my Nexus 7, but I can't get the new folder to appear.

Any suggestions, please?

Solved it. The only thing I didn't do was to restart the Nexus 7. I have done that and now the new folder has appeared.

But why I had to do that is a mystery.
