Candice & Janelle Halo, Love Came Down, You Set Me Free, I Was Here, I Surrender, Never Gone, Bring Me To Life and Yesterday - they all sound exactly the same. I get that she is good at the piano and stuff, and the judges want her to be like that, but i wish she would show a bit of diversity, the only time she has been different was when she sang Shop Around - and it wasn't different in a good way. Even Janelle and Kree (to an extent) sound samey all the time. Only Amber and Candice sound different each week. If the judges were honest and told Angie that everything sounded the same, it would do her a big favour. |

Hi people, and one thing is certain a female will win.
![]() ![]() Mind you I had thought they might have cancelled the show for a week or so, out of respect, but I suppose the show must go on. Candice ....performance was good, but not as good as last week imo....8/10 |

Kree's early life....She Talks To Angels by the Black Crows....she sounds more country than Janelle was. Has a lot of stage presence too.........9/10 |

I like Nicki's critique, and could listen to her for ages.
![]() Angie could get a few votes re her remark, which she was bound to make in the circumstances....sweet vocals, but unsure re that song for her 8/10 Last edited by Dix : 18-04-2013 at 21:43. Reason: typo |

Back with Jimmy who liked Angie the best.
Amber.......aaaw she was a cute bady. Nervous singing in front of Mariah, but am sure she'll manage ok. ![]() Has a lovely voice, but wish she wasn't so wooden. Some body movements in tune to the music would be good. Singing-wise she was good. 8/10 |

Janelle doing Dolly Parton! I love Dolly too...so she better do good...after the ads...
Not a patch on Dolly, as Dolly could sing songs with soft edges and emotions. Janelle not doing same, and some of her vocals sound messy to me. 5.10 |

Angie...Halo.....better with this number, but she's still got the loudness in her vocals, when a softer tone would be kind to the ears.

The ad-free version has started, courtesy of my PVR. Sorry Dix, that you were on your own with your postings. Now it's my turn to keep a lone vigil here.
Candice. I didn't know the song, so maybe that's why I didn't get into her performance. It certainly wasn't a show-stopper. Janelle does a decent job, singing very nicely with another song I didn't know, but she just doesn't move me. But she is a cute little marshmallow! |

Kree - just superb. The way she moves between notes so perfectly is such a treat for the ears.
(This guy Jimmy really knows what he's talking about.) Angie sings a song I know! Wow, sung with real feeling. Great performance without the need to sing note perfect. If she chooses the right songs, she WILL win this year. |

Wow - What a show. Absolutely loved it tonight and enthralled by the standard of the performances.
Amber may well end up being the greatest 4th place in Idol history. IMO of course. |

Amber also sings a song I know, but it doesn't get me. Her tone just doesn't seem so nice, the key seems wrong. With respect to other divas present, Harry Nilsson's version is still the best! Nikki agrees with me on this. I don't think Nilsson wrote it... BRB...(Wikipedia) as I thought, written by Badfinger.
At least we have a suitable theme tonight with 5 girls left. Diva section starts with Candice (When You Believe). Lovely version. She doesn't overdo it, just lets her great voice do the job. I really liked it. |

It sure is nice to be in a Lazaro-free zone. Okay, so I'm a bloke and I like to see pretty girls singing, but it feels a little strange without a bloke around.
Another great effort from Janelle, entertaining the audience, but not an impressive vocal. Her previous song was more diva-like than this one. Kree sings beautifully again with her great flowing tone. I think Nicki is right that Kree will be very successful after AI, although probably not immediately. |

Angie is letting rip tonight, and I think that's a very good move, as the other singers are rather too controlled, if I had to criticize them for anything. She sure looks glamorous, but I'd rather see her looking a bit more youthful and current so that she maximizes her girl-crush potential.
And we finish with Amber, doing Barbra Streisand. I liked it, but not greatly. It really make it a good week for her to leave. The judges are working hard to ensure that Amber outlasts Janelle. I think in talent terms she has the edge, but it'll still only amount to a 4th place. My winner tonight: Angie, and that's the first show I've felt that way. |
