Most impressionists can usually do one or two voices well and then usually rely on mannerisms to carry off other people. I thought she did Katie Price, Amy Childs and Cheryl Cole very well indeed, but the Stacey Solomon and Holly Willoughby voices weren't very good.

Watching her showreel on Youtube as well, a few of her other voices aren't that great either, but there are plenty of other women who have got by on a lot less. I'm thinking of Ronni Ancona and Debra Stephenson amongst others.

Whilst not both out and out impressionists, the ones they do do aren't really that great - Stephenson's Jordan impression isn't a patch on Lewis' one.

I thought she was brilliant. The one that just needed tweaking was Holly. But Katie and Amy were awesome, and the bets of all was Cheryl Cole. Closing my eyes, It was Cheryl Cole all over. Perfect.

Ditto. I didn't recognise her but her name along with the fact that she was an impressionist rang a bell. Racking my brains to remember on which show I'd seen before, I falsely remembered her being a contestant on Show Me The Funny! "She was the other female contestant alongside Ellie Taylor!", I triumphantly proclaimed. Google said not. I then totally convinced myself that she'd been on Celebrity Come Dine with me, which Google again denied. It was only when I searched just her name that I found out and really remembered her!

Oh! So that's who the people were. Two people I have heard of, and three I haven't. I didn't recognise any of her impressions.

In my opinion, the only voice she did well was Cheryl Cole's. The rest were just okay. Cheryl Cole's was spookily identical. I actually thought it was Cheryl standing there for a second when she imitated her.

If you play a clip of Amy Childs then play Francine Lewis doing her straight afterwards, you'll see how good it was.

Watching it again, I did laugh at Amanda Holden's cackling

She sounds like Amy in the way that Amy talks, but not the tone and pitch though. The way Amy goes on, she has captured that, but has lost the remaining 20%.

I presume that the clips of impressions on her website were recorded some time ago because most of them are nowhere near as good as the ones she did on the show. In particular, the impression of Cheryl Cole on the show was really good but on the website it just sounds like the average person having a go!

I had to consult Google when reading the names because I had no idea who 'Vanessa Phelps' was!

The main criticism I'd make of her is that she only did impersonations of reality show 'celebs'....it was a very narrow base to be working off. What about actresses, politicians, sports stars, newsreaders etc?

She was fantastic. Probably one of the best impressionists that have been on BGT so far. I hope she gets through to the semi finals.

i thought she was ok, not brilliant, i think impressionists shouldn't slip in the name of the celeb they are mimicking you should be that good that you shouldn't need to, and it certainly was not worthy of a standing ovation (where on earth did that come from) the audience and judges must of had some god awful acts that day for her to get a standing ovation

If her showreel is anything to go by though, she's actually done all her best ones first. the rest of them aren't anything special - Janet street porter is almost compulsory for female impressionists anyway

i think im picky and not easily pleased , i thought in all the classical boys were the only ones i liked on saturday night IMO it was a very poor episode.

Same here. If there's any criticisms possible for an act on the show, I'll find them. Sometimes a member of my family doesn't like it when I'm like this. I'll only completely praise an act when they've done nothing wrong. I actually love it when an act is perfect.

I agree. Although I think she only did it with the Holly Willoughby impression in her audition, most of the clips on her website start off with "Hi, I'm [name]."

Regarding the standing ovation, it's been said that producers set up various audience shots and insert them into performances, so in reality that may not have happened.

I couldn't care less whether a impressionist says who he/she is doing a impression of,to be honest. If the impression is good, why should it matter?
