New Phone

I want a new phone but have a bout 5 months left on my currnent contract. i want to get the SE F500i, other than paying up the rest of my contract and cancelling it, then getting a new contract out, i there any other way to do this? except pay a ridiculous amount for the phone itself?

another question, on a slightly different topic. when my 12 month mobile contracts near the end, i normally just cancel them and get a new contract with a newer phone. this saves me money (as i dont need to pay for an upgrade) but i have to get a new number every time (it doesnt bother me). is there any disadvantages to doing this? would it be better to upgrade or is it just a personal preference what you do?

Pay up your contract (or request a PAC Code, as they'll automatically make you pay up this way anyway) and then take your number over to another network.

Take out a new handset, and then port your number back over.

Be careful though, as some networks (I know Three and o2 online don't) allow you to port your number back over to their network if you leave them.

Well, o2 online maybe do, but when I did this, the old account was reactivated, and I had 2 bills, 6 days of no service, and then a release from the 12 month contract, and finally went over to Orange.

So.. to avoid all that hassle, just upgrade!
