Disappointing news.

The weird sexual tension between Louis and Tulisa at the end of the panel has had me gripped the past 2 series, so it's a shame she's going

Anything is better than Tulisa.

Wish it was Dannii, but Sharon IS better than Cheryl.

The only issue I have with Sharon returning, is that the show has moved on a lot since she was on it. She wasn't the best mentor.
You see the likes of Dannii giving Aiden the Kanye West 'Diamonds Are Forever' song and Nicole giving James songs like Hometown Glory, I just don't see Sharon being that current and relevant with her song choices. I hope I'm wrong, I guess we'll soon see.

Sharon was a hopeless mentor IMO.

She has a good tv personality but no musical talent therefore this was definitely a bad choice of judge in my opinion

Looking more and more likely, 'Sharon to return' is becoming a recurring story from various different places.

As usual thought elements im sure will be made up, the price of the deal is usually a favourite thing for the media to exaggerate. But having said that I bet she will demand quite a sum, to make it worthwhile leaving her life and career in the US for six months.

I still reckon this is bull, just a way of raising Sharon's profile a bit. She won't be back. They need a young, relevant judge.

the end and final year if she is back. Still dont think she will be as Cowell isnt that stupid

She used to just have Mark Hudson do all the work. But towards the end of her time on the show the role of mentors was becoming less and less important. These days I think they barely matter. There's a never ending list of A&R's, managers, producers, choreographers and stylists hovering around. I think the main thing for the mentors these days is to demonstrate some kind of bond with their contestants, some kind of chemistry that comes over in the VT's and on screen (something Nicole did well last year and Tulisa nailed with Little Mix). But in terms of decisions, I'm not sure they've got much influence.

Goodbye Xfactor if this is true, I don't quite believe it yet, surely must be a wind up. Any random person of the street would be better than Sharon. £2 million to spend and you're opting for Sharon, quite funny actually.

sharon was good when the series first aired, its developed into something different now so it will be interesting to see how the dynamics work

I think she will alienate more viewers than appeal to them.

My one concern with Sharon returning is that her role is the warm-hearted, wacky female judge. Nicole also played that role- do we really need two judges essentially the same and will it force Nicole back into her tearful, sloppy judge role that she employed on x Factor US. Hope I'm wrong and there is a great dynamic, we shall see...!

Tulisa.is definitely leaving and Sharon is definitely returning deal with it.

Great news Sharon coming back. Love her or hate her she actually cares about her acts and won't let the producers tell her what to do, unlike Tulisa who was bullying Chris last year and even though Sharon never liked Rhydian she never bullied him live on TV and give praise where it was due.

I honestly can't see Sharon Osbourne being a ratings draw. I didn't like her in her first stint and I still don't think she's qualified at all.

Bit rude imo. You're clearly just jealous of Sharon's immense judging skills and popularity

Delighted that Sharon is returning.

My eyes will be glued to the screen.

You obviously didn't watch the first series and the way she treated Steve brookstein live on tv.

Louis and Nicole also made their dislike of chris known to the audience but you seem to single out tulisa. You obviously don't like her.

Sharon did ok in the first three series (third, second and third) - it was series four it went pear shaped. Kimberley and Alesha bottom two in week 1 and Emily was forced to leave

I wonder if she'll be given the groups this time
