Oh god, this is awful news.
I totally agree with you. She is a foul mouthed harridan of the higher order, We need a dynamic, younger person to bring zip to the next series, not a washed out, fake-faced never-has-been oldie.

AND 2 MILLION POUNDS has Simon lost his marbles, or is Loius behind the Sharon deal...I wonder.

Anyway, it is bad news all round.

I have writeen several times to ITV telling them that hiring Sharon is NOT the way forward.

When did Sharon ever swear on the X Factor?

Dynamic, younger person? They tried that with Tulisa, enough said.

You call her fake faced, Louis and Simon have had loads of work done too - at least Sharon has always been honest about the amount of plastic surgery she's had.

I agree the audience will plummet with her on board 5million a show this year I think.

What Cowell has miscalculated is that the show was biggest when Minogue and Cole were there. not when Osbourne was there.

I think the idea is that bringing Osbourne will get older viewers back, however the downside being is that the young audience will dessert in millions. They are not going to watch a show with two sixty somethings as judges.

He will also lose the style wars angle that the papers loved Minogue/Cole Tulisa/Kelly Tulisa/Nicole that will be gone now as well

It's become too much about the judges, who cares what they wear? It should be about the contestants.

Agree. Sharon will make sure that the X Factor is ALL about her unless Tulisa stays...then boy, oh boy is Sharon going to hate that, particularly as Tulisa gets on very well with Louis.

THE CAT FIGHTING X FACTOR roll up, roll up, I have a large wheelie bin full of rotten eggs with Sharon's name on them and the village stocks will come in very useful and the ducking stool.

Been there, done that. Why rehash something that didn't work well in the first place, Osbourne is effing terrible and the show has been 100% better since she left, are they really that hard up and can't get anyone better?

As for £2 million, do me a favour she shouldn't even be getting half of that, great more money for her pratt of a husband to just piss up the wall with drugs, alcohol and God knows what else.

Oh lets bring up Ozzy's addictions again, for the thousandth time, very predictable and incredibly boring Like Sharon would provide any kind of money to finance his drug habit.

You would think he's the only one to have ever took drugs.

Cat fighting? Who did Sharon cat fight with when she was last on the show? I don't ever recall it

Agreed. Although there's been a lot of bashing about her, one thing she was was entertaining. Gary & Tulisa were both 2 big SNOREFESTS. Shaz, Louis and closed room auditions were always funny back in the day. At least with Sharon back, someone will FINALLY shut Gary's trap too! She won't take any of his rubbish.

I hope Sharon replaces Louis tbh. Louis's role is redundant, Nicole and Sharon together do what he does and now he can leave hopefully.

This is really disappointing news, if true. I've watched every Pop Idol and X Factor (don't judge me I've never watched BGT so it balances out ) but I can't face the thought of Sharon Osbourne back. She was bearable first time around but there must be a better option than her now. Someone new if Tulisa isn't coming back. (Louis is popular and it would be a mistake to replace him - though I think Sharon coming back may lose more viewers than just me so it'll be immaterial who else is there.)

Will the X Factor really lose viewers because of who is cast (and who is not) as a judge? I honestly think the show is bigger than that. I lost interest in 2011 when the top three was announced in the final but I kept watching until the end. I think that reflects the bigger viewing public.

The judges are paid a lot of money so one would think that the people who put the programme together think that they will have an impact on viewer numbers. It has also been suggested that the fall in viewers is at least in part due to Gary Barlow replacing Simon Cowell.

At this moment I think Sharon will be okay. Although the whole Dannii thing did make me hate her.
I guess some will watch again for Sharon and if Nicole stays and Tulisa leaves the panel doesn't look too bad.

And yet Simon Cowell is 'hated'. Certainly on these forums.

A bit ageist no?

Sorry but Louiis and Simon are both older judges. Age has nothing to do with it whatever your views about Sharon.

Personally I find with age comes experience and a huge percentage of the XF audience are not young.

I'm sure he's devastated. Hated by people who can't stop watching and voting in his programmes. Boo hoo.

This is surely a sign they are desperate.

BGT is producing more talent than both X Factor and The Voice. And a couple on there can sing better than last years X factor winner I reckon
