Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out how I do some of the simple stuff on my new 6230 and find myself going round and round the menus, not finding what I need. Maybe some 6230 owners out there can help me out -

1) If I have a dark wallpaper, I can't see the text and symbols. If I change the colout scheme, not much seems to change... Can I make it so all the text is white?

2) Delivery reports... why can't I find the option to turn this on? (for text messages) Is it not possible on the 6230?

3) How do I turn off the operator being displayed in the middle of the wallpaper?

I'm sure they are all very easy things, I just can't find the options Thanks for any help.

1. Nope. Your gonna have to use a lighter wallpaper.
2. Yes, its possible (Menu, Messages, Message Settings, Text Messages, Default profile, Delivery reports and then select YES!) - although depending on software on your phone, the input may be different.
3. You can't turn off the Operator Display AFAIK. You may tho be able to send yourself a blank "operator logo", but i'm not sure if this is supported by 6230.

Excellent, thanks.

Another question would be, I'm on firmware v3.14. The latest is v4 something I beleive, is it worth my time queuing in Carphone Warehouse for the upgrade?

And another question would be... how do I (can I?) install java games on the 6230? The 6600 I just copied the java file over and ran it from the application manager...

Regarding the Firmware! pass! i dont' know what the improvements/bug fixings are?!? and if your phone works ok, why bother

You Install Java Games using the Nokia Suite - the only thing I can't figure out is how to install them on the MMC card instead of the defualt location, the phones memory!

How do you go about installing these on the phone? If I click on one of the .jar files, it opens up qith a bunch of .class files. Which ones do you transfer and where do you transfer them to?

It is well worth upgrading your firmware. the new version has much better support for bluetooth and is basically better all round. For getting rid of the operators logo you do need to install a blank one and it does work

Out of interest, as I just upgraded to a 7610 in my local Orange shop, and I have insurance, should I go in and declare that I've changed my phone? Have I broken my contract in any way?

go on your wap and type in the url "google.com" and search for remove operator logo,

ive done this and it works fine, it removes operator logo and gives you the option to turn it back on in the display settings

Well, maybe I have a way to do it... I have LogoManager, but when I save a blank.nol or blank.nlm and then try it still says 'no logo in memory' What might I be doing wrong?
