BIB - my first thought was, oh Val just go for it & be like your big bro for once then rational part my brain kicked in & realised his approach is better because his supporters know what he's thinking or are pretty close to it - WHAT YOU SAID!!!

Saw a tweet about Derek as choreographer & think it summed him up on DWTS, he choreographs out the box routines to get noticed & work not to make his partner look good!!

OMG i'd love to see rehearsal vids of him with a Kate Gosslin type partner!!

Yep I was like ohhhhhhhhhhh he is going to have a Maks moment but then again Im glad that he listened to his voice of reason and shut up lol.
Which brings me to say that imho, Maks has NEVER won the show because he doesn't do PC answers and doesn't know how to reel it in. He had very good partners but too many times his " antics " didn't help his partner's chance of winning.

Well he should get few more this season & fingers crossed now he's had chance to show what he can do with choreography/teaching he'll get a little bit of 'golden boy' treatment!!!

Thats why he is a brilliant choreographer for this show and why he is propped so much .
Why doesn't he go to Broadway or pursue a career in Hollywood because it seems like TPTB like to remind us (the audience ) that he is too good for this show then why don't he just go away ?
I would just like to see him with a partner who has no rythm at all !!! Derek would lose his mind

I'd have too but I'm never confident about who I support So if I wasn't supporting Zendaya I think I'd be more confident. I've supported her from the second she was announced so I've just gotta have faith!

Hehhh I dont know about that but its kind of sad that he has more of a chance to get the Golden Boy's treatment than Mark. Shirley and Corky are practically behind this show; they trained at least 80% of all the pro dancers. I wonder how Mark feels sometimes to come second next to Derek; Thats how I see it sometimes.
Oh well........

That's a good question why is he still on the show if he's one of best choreographers around, i mean his fans been tweeting to get his dance last nigh nominated for an Emmy.

My opinion is he likes the celebrity of DWTS & the attention it brings him where if he was a choreographer behind the scenes he wouldn't get that so that's why he sticks around.

I think i was just putting down my hopes rather than thinking it may happen!!

Mark really looks shadow of himself especially this series i think he's at stage of had enough & moving on soon.

I find his space on the show quite awkward now, too. He started off as the one that would get all the short, young girls (e.g. Sabrina, Bristol) yet he's still getting them, but he's becoming a different 'character' with the tattoos and new look. It's a bit odd, now.

Ive only ever watched DWTS fully twice season 14 and season 16 and i think thats enough hopefully I wont be into future series lol .

I get impression he's more into his music career & that's why the different style & less animated about dancing.

great minds think alike because thats exactly what i think ; He loves all the praise and attention and tbh who wouldn't ? lol

But he is still not successful with that . And I dont he will ever be, sorry Im not trying to be mean but just realistic. Mark is a very good singer and guitarist . I bought his CD last year and play it almost all the time but sometimes in show- bizz talent is not enough unfortunately . We all know a lot of people who are so successful but not talented. And many people in the entertainment business who are talented but so underrated. Its what it is

yah very odd , it seems like he doesn't really know what " character" he wants to be. Just OTT and all over the place . I say this but I really like him lol , he is my favourite male pro on the show but something seems off about him this season.

What dances do you want to see Z and Val choose as their favourite dance to re-do on the finals ? I'm thinking AT (less likely ) or Jive (hopefully ).

I'm hoping it's the Jive as I LOVED that one and it's got SO many views, too. Her AT was amazing, too, but I can imagine she doesn't want to do it ALL again as it was very hard work!

yeah I can watch that jive over and over again and never get tired of it lol. Hopefully they choose it.

Contemporary or Samba but it wont happen

noooooooo especially not the samba. I love both dances but for the finals you want something up-tempo , something that is going to fire up the audience. I like the contemporary and thinks it is so special but nahhhh for the finals and as for the samba too slow and the choreo doesnt work for the finals. I want something that will give them more chances to have some votes . Plus its Val's speciality

So Aly is dancing the rumba and Z will probably not dance the rumba . Can you see more backlash towards Z ? SMH. As if she needed another one on top of the hip-hop one.

To whoever posted earlier about the craziness in the abc board...your right...same complaints every other thread (the same EXACT complaints from week 1....) but one poster summed it up SO well:

They whine about Zendaya being only 16 years old, as if that has any significance at all, to competing on a TV:PG reality show about dancing. I won't even dignify the claims of unfairness because she's a Disney employee...that one is a real head scratcher. Soap and reality stars, anyone????

The really sad part is that they have no confidence in Kellie and Derek, who are separated from Zen and Val by only 2 total points in the standings. Instead, they would rather rip apart a mature, well-mannered, hard working 16 year old, who merely accepted an invitation from ABC to do the show. It says an awful lot about those fans.

He can probably incorporate a few dance styles/steps depending on the song. Last season I really didn't love any of the freestyle tbh.

Tony/Melissa - nice dance...just not for the final. Too slow and serious. No problem with contemporary but it didn't fit.

Derek & Shawn- they went for creepy dark circus vibe. I didn't love it tbh. I was more impressed by their mambo than I was by their freestyle.

Val & Kelly - cute routine and some creative moments i.e. violin, wire work, choir etc. jam packed, however I wasn't blown away by the dancing.

The song is key imo. The music choice for their salsa was so different and unique I LOVED IT. When I heard they had salsa I was expecting the typical salsa music/costumes...pleasantly surprised.

Oh by the way..all the complaints at pure about the salsa not having enough content or not enough in hold truly make me laugh. The hypocrisy is truly mind blowing when you consider that these are some of the same people who RAVED about shawn & derek's tribal samba with very little actual samba. Or maria & derek's non-jive because of her injury. They raved about how brilliant & creative Derek was etc. etc. So now they just sound ridiculous.

The last thing I'll say about their salsa. Some might prefer kellie's theatrical piece over zendaya's salsa ....ok that's fine. But fandom aside, I think Val did a superior job showcasing Zendaya. She was the star of that routine. Derek created a theatrical paso it was fun too, however besides Kellie being flung between Tristan and Derek...there was no "star" of that routine imo. It was great as a piece of art (music, lighting etc). The whole point of the trio was to showcase the celebrity and I truly don't think I'm being biased when I say that Val did a better job of that. (don't think kellie should have got a 7 either).

Thanks for the compliment!!! Think most the pro-dancers enjoy the perks of being a Celeb via DWTS but for me its the fact hardly anybody calls Derek out on every season saying its his last, same as Maks did but he always had lots comments/jokes made about it.
Remember in one of Marks post show interviews he said Derek was a "camera w****" & know he meant it as joke but to me it's truth!!!
