Hi everybody. I've been lurking around on the forums this whole season, but never posting
and rooting for Zendaya and Val all the way from England. They really made the season worth for me. I'll be one of those that will choose them as my favourite dancing couple ever on DWST. I'm kind of done with the show not because Zendaya and Val lost the MBT but because of the way the network handled the so-called voting fiasco. Yes, I'm one of those who thinks it's utterly disrespectful the way they conducted themselves towards the viewers but don't want to dwell on that. Thank God, I still have Strictly Come Dancing as my guilty pleasure Thanks all for this thread and links. I'm pretty sure the sky is the limit for Zendaya, uber talented in so many fronts, level-headed girl. The admiration here comes from a mother of a girl as well. I just can hope she keeps going like that and being this great role model that she is. She might have had many people trying to put her down during the season, but I could see that she also has tons of love from many, many other people. As for Val, I really hope he gets another shot to the MBT (if he chooses to stay on DWTS) because he's really deserving of more recognition not only for his talent but also for the way he's conducted himself throughout the season. I was quite impressed of how he's raised to the challenge of keeping all his choreo age appropriate without deflecting from the dance itself. All the best to everybody.

.Long and lanky is a disadvantage at times, as Val realized when he was unhappy at first to get paired with Zendaya. Derek commented after being paired with someone almost as tall as Zendaya that "certain moves looked better when Jennie [his first celeb partner, who was 5'5) did them." Many of us knew exactly which moves he was talking about. I'm sure it was a challenge for Val as well, but he knew just how to showcase Zendaya to best advantage. Donald Driver never got a single 10 during the regular season. Emmitt Smith was at the bottom of the leaderboard early in his season. Donny Osmond was at the bottom two weeks in a row. They all won regardless. Even when my favorite doesn't win, I don't do sour grapes. What's the point? The premise of the show is that viewers get 50% say in who wins and who doesn't. I gave votes to Jacoby because I liked him and enjoyed seeing him dance and perform and because I loved watching him take the first kickoff in the second half of the Super Bowl and return it 108 yards for a touchdown. If he'd delilvered a crowd-pleasing freestyle I may have voted for him in the finals as I voted for Donald Driver. But he didn't. Zendaya would have been a worthy winner, no question about it. The fact is, she didn't win, and I think it's safe to say the freestyle made the difference. The credit should go to Carrie Ann for her advice in Week 7 for Kellie to show more emotion in her dances. As the judges said following Kellie and Derek's Samba: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb66T1ufaK4 Carrie Ann: "When you dance, I see perfection in every single move you do. You are such an incredible student. Every line is perfect, it's pristine. But I am going to tell you something because I really think you're fantastic: I don't feel you when you dance. [Crosstalk]. She's so fantastic, I really do believe you're fantastic but I feel like you're still--it's so pristine that [Crosstalk] but I'm telling you this because I really think you have a chance to make it to the final and I think it's going to come down to this--the emotional connection to the dance and making us feel for you." Len: "It was a mix of bouchees, bounce and bungos. I'm telling you, it was crisp, it was clean, then it was hot and it was spicy. I thought you got the how of the technique and the wow of the performance. I can't agree [with Carrie Ann], I thought it was brilliant." Bruno: "I must say, you shook my bon-bons and everybody else's bon-bons as well. Len is right. It was the perfect balance of technique and performance. Everything you could want from a Samba was there. The content was out of this world." Derek took Carrie Ann's comment to heart and that's why he gave Kellie the freestyle he did. If he hasn't thanked Carrie Ann already, I'm sure he will.

lol.
Dancefan8001 I respectfully disagree with whatever the point of your post is Anyway I still think Zendaya is the better dancer....as for it all coming down to the freestyle....I'll never know for sure with the voting issue...the win is kinda tainted in my eyes. |

Dancefan8001 I respectfully disagree with whatever the point of your post is Anyway I still think Zendaya is the better dancer....as for it all coming down to the freestyle....I'll never know for sure with the voting issue...the win is kinda tainted in my eyes. The freestyle views show it was a blowout in the head-to-head freestyle. Kellie's freestyle already has more than 606,193 views. That's in Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy territory, and that one had 7 years to accumulate all its views. Zendaya's freestyle doesn't yet have 100,000 views, so more than 6 times as many = blowout. You can read quite a few articles online in which authors predicted the result based on the freestyles. Louis Van Amstel wrote in his blog: "Absolute miles above the rest, and winning the freestyle round, was Kellie and Dereks contemporary freestyle. Everything about it was immaculate. It was raw, real, beautifully executed, so musical and internally felt." Louis went on Good Morning America and predicted Kellie would win. As far as little kids crying, it's never too early to learn the lesson that we can't have everything we want and our favorites won't always win. Zendaya will be fine. DWTS gave her a much bigger platform and she's no longer just an obscure cast member on a Disney show. She has talent to burn and will go far. As Bruno said, "A star is born...Big Time!" Thanks to her, viewers got to see more of Val's choreography and more of his personality. And all the finalists got paid the same regardless of how they ended up. It's a win-win for all of them. |

Zendaya must be the busiest of all the Celebs from this season, there seems to be a new interview appearing daily - IMO shows who was real star of the show.
![]() Had to laugh when she was asked to teach 1 of the presenters some dance steps he 1st thought was that she hoped Val wouldnt be watching her!! ![]() ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDjV9yCNqls |
