There is no way around it, they just have to go out there and perform but already people cant stop talking about it and they haven't even danced it yet....sigh...

Usually the judges like the rumbas to be steamy, sensual and sometimes you get penalized for being too technical or trying to make it more romantic. What he could do is maybe bring Z to one of his studios and show in their package how his young students perform it or how he teaches it to one of his young students. By doing that, he would show to the rest of us watching the episode that its just a dance, and its not a big deal.
Honestly I have seen some youth Latin competition and what I see those teens wear, and how they perform make whatever Z is doing on dwts look like a nun (and they are younger than her ).
Shawn performed a rumba on week 6 with Mark (he made a prom theme and that was so cute ) and it was beautiful, romantic and tastefully sexy; It was one of my fav. dances of Shawn in season 8. I honestly dont understand why people are making it a huge deal with Z and Val potentially dancing the rumba in the semi-final

Btw Shirley confirmed that its a 4 people final, anything to put Aly & Mark in that finale I see .

I actually thought she handled the discussion about Mark choosing Andy & Vals comments quite fairly & i liked that she said that Val meant it as thats what i felt too but her bias did show when talking about scoring especially of Kellie's Samba, that was just ridiculous.

As for the talk of politics from judges - think thats been obvious for several seasons now!!!

She definitely won me over with her comments about Val at the beginning of talking about Zen/Val dance & about him being best Jive dancer shes seen - think lots would agree with that as i loved George from OTRC commenting on how Vals legs move when doing Jive.

LOL think possibly you & I are little too Valdaya obsessed & critical of certain male pro dancer on main forum.

Really like the idea of incorporating Val teaching kids younger than Zendaya in video package but i do worry that all the focus on what he will do may be putting too much pressure on him & dont think showing him saying not wanting Rumba for immunity dance so many times has helped this situation.

Just adore her honesty about how she was disappointed to not get a 10 or perfect score but also her attitude is so positive that it just makes her work harder.

Also like her in a way sticking up for Val in the decision to pick Jacoby/Karina & agree after Video with Val saying he didnt want rumba so many times it would have been likely Sean or Ingo would have picked that for them.

Because the way it usually works is, they will show a package of Z and her parents talking and her Disney family talking about Z's life in general then she will have to do the rumba next ,OMG That will be even more awkward . That's exactly how it was for Chelsea Kane in season 12 when she danced the rumba in week 9.

I also agree with your last sentence, they showed that clip of him and Z talking about the rumba so many times last monday that it was a bit too much, it just seems like putting again too much pressure on him.
Anyways, I want to see that rumba .I usually dont like the rumba when the dancers cant dance a la Ingo, Sean and I didnt even like Kellie's rumba this season but I think that Z's rumba has the potential to be really and I mean really good. I see her getting a perfect score with that dance .
