3 Tariffs on Orange (Select 500 & 750)
I was just wondering whether anyone is on the ovp 3 tariffs on Orange. These tariffs are called Select 500 and Select 750. I managed to get 500 minutes xnet on Orange for £25 but I was told that they did not price match 750 minutes xnet for £35.
After looking around a bit, I have heard that Orange will price match the 750 minutes that 3 offers. So has anyone ever go 750 minutes for £35 on Orange and if so, what did they have to do?? |

These are only offered as a last resort by customer retention teams. You have to threaten to PAC out of Orange to 3 before they will match a 3 tarriff AFAIK.
I'm going to check out if they will do this and provide an upgrade at the same time. Cant imagine why they would'nt. That way I could get Orange reliabilty at 3 prices - best of both words! |

That what I did to get my Select 500 tariff on Orange. I was out of contract and I threatened to leave if they didn't price match 3 so they told me to ring the Orange Retentions department who offered to match 500 mins for £25. I also had to upgrade my phone so I got a Nokia 6230 and Orange have got me by the short and curlies for another 12 months.
But they categorically denied that they would match 750 mins for £35 which has really irritated me as I have heard that they do match this tariff. Just wondering how far the line to disconnecting from Orange other people had to go through to get 750 mins and whether ther is anything I can do now to upgrade to this tariff? |

Doesn't their TV advert say they will match any tariff? Is there any small print on it when they say that? Can you threaten to take them to court for their false advertising?
While we're on the matter of tariffs, what are the best ones about? All the 3 ones? I don't think I use my phone enough to use 500 minutes, I have 400 at present (between me and my g/f) and last month with had about 300 roll over! (Thats probably the most ever mind you) |

With regards to Orange tariffs on ovp, they say that they will match selected tariffs off O2, Vodaphone and T-Mobile so tariffs such as the O2 online tariff where you get 400mins+200mins free, they will not match. So as you would expect, they cover themselves well with the small print as there is no mention of any matching of 3 tariffs on ovp.My major irritation with Orange is that they just lied to me when they said they don't offer 750 mins which I consider to be very bad customer service as I have lost all trust with them. Considering my monthly bill is over £100, I expect not to be lied to and some better service than I have got. With regards to tariffs, 3 is obviously the best in terms of what they offer but as mentioned on other threads, the reception can be a little suspect but is slowly improving although I don't know what the state of their customer services department is at the moment. O2 online are very good as they offer great xnet minute deals but it all depends on whether you spend most of your talktime using crossnet, offpeak or speaking on the same network. |

Hi,
Sorry to bring up this old thread, but following on from these questions, I've been on the Select 500 tariff for about 11 1/2 months now and I'm looking at handset upgrades. Has anybody else done an upgrade whilst on the tariff and how did it go? Also, I've got the Orange Care Package. Does this make any difference? Thanks Andy |
