I got through on the X Factor, but I don't know what to do.

Hey guys, I wouldn't mind some advice tbh.

I'd auditioned for the X Factor earlier this year and completely forgot about it (I sent them a video clip thingy)

Anyway, got an e-mail today saying I'd got through to the next round of auditions, congratulating me and asking me to go down and audition in person and sing the same song I sang in the video; but I can't even remember what I sang.

Like I dunno whether to go? It'll cost a bit to travel down to Manchester and stuff and I don't even know what I bloody sang...

Advice please? Anyone been in a similar boat?

I wouldn't bother going when you can't recall what you sang. When you say, "I sent them a video clip thingy," I can't imagine what you sent them if it wasn't a video clip? Too expensive to travel to Manchester? Give it a miss unless they pay for you to attend. Even then, XF is dying on its feet and you don't need to be a part of it.

First of all The X Factor Is Not Dying on its feet so stop slagging the show off as this thread has nothing to do with slagging it off...

Surely you would of saved a copy of the audition you sent to them incase you got to the 2nd producers stage??

X factor should not have to pay for you to come and audition as you wasent forced to auditon, Surely if you cannot be bothered to pay for some travel then your dream of being a singer wasent serious at all.

I got through and i had to pay to go london again yet i managed it cause if you dont have a passion for singing then your not serious, again if you get to judges audition again they wont pay for ya travel there either its up to you!

Why should the X Factor pay? With viewers dropping like flies, they must be down to their last millions in advertising revenue. Why shouldn't they be able to make money off the backs of others without it costing them a dime?

You're highly unlikely to get through again so I wouldn't bother going unless you're keen on wasting time and money.

It sounds like you're not bothered either way, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the odds probably aren't in your favour so if you don't want to waste money, don't go.

Why should they pay even if they are making millions? You don't get paid travel expenses when you go for a job interview well not generally although I know you do in special cases

Why should the XF pay for the travel costs? It's up to you whether to take the opportunity nobody forces you to do it. Anyway, the OP doesn't seem to care much anyway so why even bother, let someone else who truly wants it have the chance, someone who cares and bothers enough to at least remember what they sang and take such opportunity seriously.

Regardless of your chances, I think you would regret it if you decided against going.

So sweet the way you defend your programme. It gladdens my heart.

It ain't a job interview

It is a TV programme designed to make millions on the cheap. if they can't pay for a train fare then f**k them

Maybe, it's just a bit out of the blue.

Yeah I know it's 25 quid for the coach to Manchester! So it's not going to break my back. I don't really want to be a singer lol, if I'm being honest I'd just go for the experience! I don't think expect/want anything to come of it really cause I'm focused on uni and school ATM.
