Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen, to DS's Next Top Artist. Its our sixth season, but we still have such a great quality of acts, making up an incredible line-up.

As stated in the reveal thread, we are back for another series of Indie & Mainstream. As the winner with Frank Ocean, I will be taking charge of hosting the Indie side of things. And Niall, winning with The Noisettes, will be hosting Mainstream side.

Tonight we'll be revealing which returning and new forum members will be taking part this series, along with the two acts that they will be mentoring. We will also be revealing the first theme, and information into how the next few weeks will pan out.

So we begin, with the guy who started it all its Alexos. NTA’s creater, 3 time host, and two time runner up. Will his third time actually playing be his luck turn, and win. Here’s his acts, and what he said about them.

Our next mentor has one of the most impeccable records in NTA history! She's been runner up twice, won twice and has even hosted a series! I am of course talking about aliyah101!

This band has a sound that is an amazing throw back to the retro 80’s alternative music, blended with a new wave indie sound that makes their music absolutely infectious.With mature vocals, dynamic melodies and strong lyrics, I believe this band has exquisite soul.

The lead singer and writer Chloe Chaidez is only 17 years old,and with photogenic looks, a sharp fashion sense and an arena-huge voice, this band are a rock lioness waiting to roar.

Dandem is the next mentor. Having played twice before, he's hoping it'll be third time lucky this time.

Our next mentor is dondfan998! She was one of the original NTA mentors back in series 1, however hasn't taken part in a series in a while. She's hoping to make an amazing comeback with these acts...

I chose Justin because he's a great example of someone who doesn't release a new record every year and comes out with an attempt at something new, but it's a bit samey-samey. My Indie act comes from the world of country music. Sara Evans has had a music career which has almost spanned 20 years, and in my opinion has one of the purest female voices in her genre. Next we have a newbie on the NTA scene its fireemblemcraze. But does she have begineers luck, which will lead her to win. Only time will tell. Heres his info on her acts:

I have always been a bit of a rock chick since listening to Dad's Queen and Pink Floyd CDs, listening to my favourite XF contestant Ruth Lorenzo and her awesome rock chick versions of classics...and then finally getting my first Ipod and listening to Evanescence and Linkin Park – my two favourite bands in all of musicdom. Now of course I couldn’t use Eva and Link in this comp so I decided to go with a band with that blend of my two favourite bands: a modern deep rock with a darker twist. And there you go, I give you my third favourite band in musicdoom: Thousand Foot Krutch. Their unique rock rapping is just so epic, and I hope I can make you guys love them just as much as I do. Just look at how badass they are:

Jess/I've Got Class has been present in most of the past contest, at first mastering the art of being eliminated week two. But it all changed last contest, where her two acts did really well, with Amanda Jensen coming 7th. Will her upwards trajectory continue.
