Package Sandwiches
Why are the vast majority so crap? Is it really that hard to prepare a decent sandwich? I bought one today and it didn't even have any butter on the bread! Foul

lol next time read the package and see if it includes butter.
I personally hate them because A) I don't like cold food, and B) they stick bacon into most of those things. |

They cost a pittance to make with the lack of filling used. Avoid at all costs. And it's not like it's hard to make sandwiches at home.

I like Pret sandwiches but recently they seem to have put yoghurt into alot of them which I hate.
I like their toasties and Bang Bang Chicken Baguette at the moment. However sandwiches in the UK are poor in comparison to the whoppers you get in the US. |

A few weeks ago i had this pitta bread thing with chicken tikka masala filling, it was well nice. It was also a bit more expensive so i guess the quality can be told by the price

The best sandwiches were those eaten on a school coach trip, they have been warmed and squashed to perfection before eating.

The difference between Subway sandwiches in the US and the UK is quite astonishing. The only time I had a Subway in the UK, it was mean, meagre, stale, and dry!

Subway makes me gag but in general I love them. But the flavours at most shops have been reduced I think.
Its quite hard to get chicken tika these days in m&s or greggs or tesco. I end up with tbe basil chicken salad with the contact lens of gristle through it. |

Sandwiches are like plants. There are many varieties.
If you don't like them, then make your own. Is that really hard. Take two slices of bread, most of it is pre sliced these days, so you don't even have to cut your bread, i.e. find something called a bread knife. Next, shove something edible between the two slices. Press it all down gently and then it is all ready for eating. Brush your teeth shortly afterwards, preferably with an Oral B toothbrush, so when when you kiss the girlfriend/boyfriend afterwards, they won't retract away or faint from halitosis poisoning. You heard it here first. |

Sainsbury's are lovely.
Ham salad with honey mustard Smoked salmon and bre (actually, that might be M&S)* The Ploughman's cheese club Yum yum. *Sadly where I live now there is no sainsburys/M&S but at least I can make this one myself |

I'm on the road all day and I do eat packaged sandwiches from many places, Pret is the best but they are not cheap.. I've tried all the supermarket's and my conclusion is that Co-op and Tescos are the best, Sainsbury's are okay, Waitrose are disgusting. M&S do good sandwiches but I stopped buying them since they dropped the meal deal....Talking of meal deals, Shell Petrol Stations is great for meal deals, the sandwiches are fantastic.
Most of the time it's Tesco's or a Shell station for my meal... |

All those packaged sandwiches look vile.
I dont see the point in buying stuff that you know isnt fresh. Sandwiches live or die off being fresh! |

Ha you can't beat a pastrami on rye about a foot thick. I used to laugh at the paper thin cardboard things they called sandwiches when I first came over here. Things have improved a bit but there are still plenty of useless sandwiches out there.

The bastardisation of the ham salad sandwich. Contaminated with mustard and the ham wiped in a dirty ashtray prior to insertion to the sandwich. Is no mustard and unsmoked ham really that hard?
Then there's mustard mayo to sneak more contamination in to all the other types of sandwich. Then there's the tomato. There must be a factory dumping tonnes of topless tomatoes into landfill while just the rubbery top with the gnarly stalk in goes into the sandwiches. Waiting to ambush you as it slithers whole out of the sandwich because it's impossible to bite through. |

I had a tuna sarnie at Oxford services on the M40 today (from Eat In) and it was vile.
The miniscule amount of tuna was all wedge up to the end so it looked like you got loads, but didn't - which is a good job because it was so soggy and runny it made me gag. I threw it away. Was steep at 3 quid too! I suspect there was 1 pence of tuna in the damn thing. |

The best prepacked sandwiches are the ones that are heavily reduced
