Truth is the save is just a gimmick that the show doesn't need. If the person doesn't get the votes then they should be sent home. It is a competition and you need votes. If you mess up or the viewers do not vote for you then accept it.

Now back to Angie. She is the best vocalist on the show and Candice is 2nd just to clarify. Angie is by far the best and she has never been in the bottom 2 or 3 which says a lot.

They are all great obviously, and worthy winners in their own right, but i've gotta say, Angie really converted me this week.

Is everyone hating Macarthur Park because it wasn't suited to Amber ? Or do you not like the song ? Jimmy Webb, who wrote it, is one of my favourite songwriters - but I always hated the Donna Summer version of that song...............

Hi folks, was winding down after being out, but watched Results' show, and Angie did my head in as it were, with her constant grinning. I reckon they want her to win, from all the attention she's been getting of late.

However, she wasn't too bad on the piano, but for me she isn't anything special. Maybe her style of singing is what the public want, and the judges are making sure Candice gets dull songs to sing, so that she is voted out. Don't think they like Amber either, but I was glad both of them stayed in for another week, and hope for some decent songs next week.

Hi, when that song first came out, I didn't understand a word of it, and don't think many others did, but it was a good talking point.

I got hub after the show to check out what it meant, online, and got him to read out the lyrics, which didn't sound any better, but I did discover what cake meant, and what the author was talking about. Reckon he was on something when he wrote those lyrics lol But what the song has are good emotions.

Well I bet the judges were thanking their lucky stars they didn't use the save before tonight or teachers pet Amber would have been a goner.

The over praising and lack of any critique she gets is becoming annoying at this stage.

No surprises here at all. As I said a week ago, the judges and certain people on the show clearly favor Amber, which is why yet again they've made a ridiculous decision to basically save her for another week and hold off the inevitable. It's Joshua all over again but somehow even worst.

Funnily enough they've started being much more harsh on Kree now, quite strange really as she's been mostly spot on to date. It's still plainly obvious that win or lose, Angie is going to be massive after the show.

Amber probably got criticised the most last night due to the McArthur Park song choice - perhaps not by the judges, but Jimmy still has an opinion which was expressed clearly.

Candice was rather awful with her performances, most certainly the worst of the night. Angie did very well and Kree also did good.

Amber to win.

The producers clearly want Amber to win. I can't seriously believe the judges really feel the way about her that they make out as while obviously it can sound different in the studio to what we hear I can't see how they can't actually hear her wandering off key constantly.

At the start of the first song I thought she was going to actually show that she did belong in the top 4 as it started perfectly but after about 20 seconds it started to seriously fall apart and then she got worse with every performance after that.

It really did seem like the producers realised she was going home and decided to save her another week. And I predict that no matter the performances next week we will see Angi and Kree in the bottom 2 due to the fact they announced who was bottom 2 as there is a serious risk of the situation we see on things like Strictly where it motivates the fans of the bottom 2 to vote while the fans of those above feel they are safe and don't vote.


Oh and did the way they wasted the theme annoy anyone else. Procol Harem for example had 2 hits in the US. Emotion and Mcarther Park both may have been technically one hit wonders for the artist who recorded the original BUT Candice did basically the Destinys Child version and Amber the Donna Summer version. Also the most famous version of both McArther park and Cry Me a River were by artists who were hardly 1 hit wonders.

When you consider how many good songs there are that was the acts only hit and hasn't been a major hit for another act to a degree that its now associated with them rather than the original act, there really doesn't seem to have been an excuse for such a poor attempt at the theme

I agree about Cry me a River, but Richard Harris had the biggest hit with MacArthur Park - not sure he had many others(though I do have 2 of his albums!)

Maybe its just just me but I hadn't ever heard the Richard Harris version until I just looked it up on YouTube now. Donna Summer's version seems to be the one played on radio and the likes.

And certainly in the US Donna Summer got to number 1 where Richard Harris only got to number 2

Amber's song choices we awful!

If she had done The Power of Love by Gabrielle Aplin (the one James Arthur covered) then she would have probably gained millions more votes. The song choices (I'm Every Woman, Say a little prayer, Power of Love, Cake in the bloody Rain) are all making her seem old fashioned. Even the way they styled her the other night was awful - like a Diana Ross tribute act. She's an extremley pretty girl and she should dress how she wants.

How you actually sing on the night is of little importance, whereas things like song choice and styling are of critical importance - I dont agree with this but that's what partly influences the voters. She needs to pick better (or be given better) songs which will appeal to younger girls - that's the one thing she has over Candice who is a bit older than her, and whose voice is similar.

Kree - I get the praise about her 'organic' 'natural' 'sultry' tone. But apart from that, she just seems a bit 'meh' to me. I want her to come fourth and end up fast forwarding through some of her performances.

Angie was the best of the night. I did notice that they gave her the better arrangement in 'Stay' where she duetted with Candice, and it allowed to show off more of her voice. But then it didn't give Candice much potential. Was a bit annoying and don't think it was a coincidence. However, I do want her in the top 2 - she is winning material and I think she will win.

Candice - it was her worst week by far. But we just know that she'll pull out a show stopper next week, maybe even two. Again, song choice is critical for her and the other night wasn't great. The Drake song was fantastic and that's what Amber should be doing - picking songs that are unexpected and you can do your own thing with instead of a carbon copy of a Celine/Aretha song.

All in all, I actually think America got it right with the bottom 2, despite them being the best vocally they didn't stand out as true artists. I hope Kree comes fourth and then I'm happy with whatever order the other 3 fall in.

I wish they hadn't announced the top and bottom 2 this week, it may give Angie and Kree fans the sense that they are safe and have Amber and Candice fans voting more.

I'm being picky, but The Power of Love that Gabrielle Aplin sings is a cover, originally Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

Also, the song she did do was huge in the UK on it's original release but more importantly (for Amber) the Celine Dion cover was very popular in the states. Personally I really don't like it, never have, but I think it was the second song that let her down, I think she'll have had a lot of votes on the strength of The Power of Love.

No idea what possessed her to choose McArther Park. Not that I don't like it, I just think it was entirely unsuited to her.

Candice is still my favourite but her song choices this week were really odd.

Kree is great, she has natural talent, she isn't given to theatrical displays but I like that about her. Something honest about her.

I dislike Angie, but I have a feeling she is going to win. She is all teeth and hair and so bland.

Amber or Angie to win, imo

On Angie, yes she does have good vocals but I wouldn't go as far as to say she is the best vocalist on the show, but performance-wise she is ahead of the others, imo. I appreciate you think she is the best, but this is down to opinion which, of course, you are entitled to - some would agree and some will not. For me personally, Candice wins hands down in the vocal dept. Never being in the bottom 2 doesn't necessarily mean a contestant is the best singer in the competition, many a time in competitions better singers have gone out ahead of the weaker ones due to factors like personality.

Hmm....i think on the nights performances...it was the right bottom 2....but if we are going on vocal ability then the bottom 2 should of been Kree and Angie....but oh well!

Would love Angie to go, it's just so boring. She sounds the same on every song.

And changing it so only one person goes when the save is used makes it redundant. Also there was never a rule saying the save HAD to be used for the show to be on schedule.

It does seem to be a ratings thing. All the rubbish about scrapping card reading Mariah for "hehehehehe" Who-pez doesn't help. Why bring her back? What would she do different? she was hardly brilliant when she was there herself.
