Main bits-
"We love Rylan and after he won Celebrity Big Brother it seemed daft not to get him on board," and insider said.

"He won't just be fronting BBBOTS, he'll get his own show. He has so much energy it's unreal. The viewers love him."
BBBOTS regular panellists Jamie East and Alice Levine will also leave Big Brother's Bit on the Side.
Meanwhile, Channel 5 are said to be turning Big Brother into more of a "social experiment", and include less wannabes in the house.

"The show needs to change and that's what we're doing. We want to get back to the essence of what made it must-see telly," the source added.

"We've got some interesting people signed up this year - including some older folk. We don't just want a bunch of fame-hungry youngsters who only want to show off."

Wow. I'd be really annoyed if I was Brian Dowling.

Interesting stuff about the social experiment stuff though.

Oh dear, whilst I didn't mind him in CBB, I can't see him being a very good presenter at all.

Still, rather him than Zezi Ifore I suppose.

I'd ver ymuch like to believe the 3rd paragraph - that's the single most sigificant change they could make to the whole format!

Are they admitting they got it wrong?
seeing is believing on C5

social experiment.....could be difficult with only 45mins a day

it isnt older people the show needs, its diversity of people that makes the show interesting to watch.

So, they want to include 'less wannabes in the house' but want Rylan - Rylan - to host bit on the side? Oh the irony....

I'm a Rylan fan and I wanted him to get a job on BB but even I think it's a bit ironic for them to be saying they are returning to the social experiment roots and moving away from putting wannabes whilst employing Rylan

Channel 5 know everything about everything so are never wrong.
They especially know how to alienate and lose a loyal tv audience

Isn't it a case of saying any old tripe to gain attention?

When have producers not made similar claims about wannabes?

The back to 'social experiement' blurb sounds like the change in live presenter a cost cutting exercise.

It looks like the producers are struggling to retain viewers.

Shoving a few oldies in makes it a social experiment?

We shall see.

I avoided BOTS in the last series and Rylan's alleged presence won't tempt me back.

I'm really surprised, didn't think they'd actually do it!

I'm a Rylan fan and I wanted him to get a job on BB but even I think it's a bit ironic for them to be saying they are returning to the social experiment roots and moving away from putting wannabes whilst employing Rylan
Yes I'm a Rylan fan and that's exactly what I thought!

So is this what they call going more upmarket?

Emma Willis to Ryan Clark is definitely more down.

I think that could work, if they had more in-depth stuff during the week

No fame-hungry youngsters who only want to show-off.
But Rylan will be a host. Logic fail.

A diverse mix would be a range of ages, and other characteristics. Mind you, age on paper can be misleading!

Rylan? I can't think what to say, didn't see him on CBB and only odd clips from X factor, which I don't watch.

Not so good news for Rylan and BOTS, but the social experiment side of it sounds very intriguing.

I'm prepared to wait and see how Rylan gets on before I make a judgement - i've not seen him doing any presenting before, just appearances as a guest on things.

As for the 'wannabees', i'd say BB was like that a long time before it moved to C5 so i'm hopeful this will be a positive step towards making it less of a an extended audition for future z-listers.

It seems we're getting more info that usual about what's to come, it's making me quite excited!

Giving Rylan the job completely contradicts the last paragraph.

Return to the social experiment is what i've wanted more than the return of live feed.

BB3 and BB5 were my favourites and though the "social experiment" aspect kind of fizzled out in place of more bizarre stuff, they retained a certain aspect of it. I'm really interested in this years series. I pray to god it also means they ditch name tags, #hashtags and cocky Marcus... oh and the montages can sod off too.

Are they crazy? Clown Clark?

He's never had a presenting gig in his life

I guess this is his reward because he won the most one sided race in CBB history

No more fame hungry wannabes they say, but er hello look at the potentially new S**t on the Side host....

And while I agree all this info coming out is promising (apart from the above in regards to the hosting gig for the spin off) I just really hope it's not a case of the old saying "If it's too good to be true......"
