Afternoon all

Recently purchased http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DVPSR75.../dp/B005LG34A6 with the hope of finally being able to copy videos off PC onto USB, then accessing them thru DVD player.
However, despite the DVD blurb saying it can handle MP4 and other formats, it ain't having any of my films played on it,

Any ideas?

Ta in advance

What resolution is the file and how big is it? According to the manual the player cannot handle resolutions greater than 720x576 or files greater then 2GB in size.

Will have to check resolution size, but file size is less than 2GB. Tried mp4, avi, .mov and even 3gpp, but it wasn't having any of it. Bit frustrating, but this DVD player is an improvement on the previous one.

Presumably the USB drive is formatted with the FAT file system? Though if it was NTFS or whatever the player probably wouldn't be able to read the drive at all rather than just not play any files on it.

The USB drive in question is a Kingston 8GB. I tried with an Mp4 which the player saw, but wouldn't run. Then copied over an .avi, .mov and the 3gpp files. This time it saw the .avi file but refused to play it. Size of .avi file is about 650 x 250.
Bizarre and annoying.

If you can live with your existing dvd player I think you'd be better off with something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Live-Stre...pr_product_top

I have the non streaming version and it plays everything I've thrown at it, its not perfect though but it is quite cheap.
