Everything Miguel touches turns to gold. This is sure to be no different.

By the sounds of it, this album could be Butterfly 2.0

The sound direction, even though we've only got a repeated riff, sounds so...different to what she normally does. I'm really excited for this, Mariah is amazing when she evolves.

After the ridiculous track that was "Triumphant", I really had my doubts about this album... but I'd become slightly more interested after Almost Home, and now this - especially with Miguel! The snippet sounds good, and Kaleidoscope Dream is an AMAZING album so hopefully it'll have a similar sound on this track (plus Mariah's vocals over that would be beeeeautiful).

I'm excited!

I've noticed how she's actually distancing herself from Triumphant. The teaser for Beautiful has "The new era begins," basically her way of telling us that Triumphant was a mistake and will probably appear on her album as the last track or something.

The Day Mariah Carey's career as a relevant singer ends! She can no longer compete anymore with modern day music and TBH she doesn't really have 2 as she has made her money and broke the records a long time ago. But her time has ended,

She stated last year that she has no plans to follow current trends, and basically stated in her own little Mariah way (i.e through shading) that the music in the charts at the moment is horrendous. I believe she used the term "...what happened?" (in regards to chart music and how horrendous it is these days). Mariah has broken enough records, set enough bars, and has rightfully earned her status as a legend. I just want music from her, not some article stating how many copies her latest single sold. So, no, her time has not ended. Maybe it's ended in the charts, but I'm sure she's not losing sleep over that. If anything, this is the true time in her career she can make the music she wants and not give an actual **** about the reception. It's not like she doesn't have money to lose.

Whilst I totally agree with the fact she doesnt need to be relevant ...unfortunately if she doesnt sell - she wil fade into obscurity (to an extent) and without selling she will be dropped..If she is dropped she will go it alone but we wont get the videos remixes exposure etc we deserve...its been seen so many times lately.

The music industry needs to get real and continue to support artists irrespective of the age..and also nurture those with talent rather than just market the next hit...

She is Mariah Carey. She will never fade into obscurity even if she never sells another record. She is a legend so she will always be remembered and based on her name alone she will be able to get record deals and do other things in the industry like AI, she will still be able to advertsie things, release perfumes, be invited onto TV shows to give interviews.

In my opinion I can NEVER see Mariah Carey getting dropped(have you seen her discography?) Even if she makes one of the worse songs in history, she is still a household name and an amazing artist

An artist like Mariah would never go without a record deal, and to be honest she doesn't even need one to put out music. She could effectively self-fund an entire era... She has a recording studio in her house and she's friends with very important industry officials (L.A. Reid, Randy Jackson etc.)

I disagree . she has been dropped before! I agree that she does not deserve to be, but hell Aretha has been released as such from her label and she is a total legend!

My point being is that we dont want her to fade into obscurity/or that legend status, and also the fact that the industry is so ageist - back in the 70s 80s and to an extent the 90s artists that were of a certain age were still playlisted and having hits!!!!!!!!

I love Mariah greatly but I do wish she would try something different. Everything sounds the same with her thesedays. Even the Oz song sounded like something that could have been on any 1 of her last 3 albums.

She should change producers. Anyhoo I have high hopes for this album purely because she is a mother now and that should have given her new stories to tell.

Also I do wish she would just go and have the op on her voice. I know she is probably scared she will lose her ability to sing but what if the opposite happens?? it could make her sing great again. Her vocals are getting worse. There is a deep husky strain within her tone thesedays. Its sad when you look back to how she used to be. Its nothing to do with aging either. She needs to have her cords fixed.

When was she dropped? Even so, I'm sure she wouldn't have a problem getting another deal(like someone has already mentioned).

I don't think she will fade. I mean, isn't that part of the meaning of being a legend?

I do agree with you about the industry being ageist though, that is true. However I believe with every artist(not just mariah) there does come a time where you have to 'give it up' no matter how good you are.

She was paid 40 million dollars to end her contract with Virgin in 2001 and was picked up quickly by Island def Jam who she is still with now.

There was a bidding war after she was let go by virgin. She's such a big name and investment that she will never be without a lable. She actually wants to leave IDJ but they don't want her to go.

Super excited for #Beautiful there's so much buzz around it.

I wish she'd dropped the hashtag in the song title... It's silly.
