Firstly, I have googled and had very little luck (the codes i have found HAVENT worked).

I recently acquired a Durabrand HT3916 Home cinema system, and whilst I know its not up there with the top of the range systems, its clear enough and powerful enough for what I use it for...

Unfortunately it didn't come with a remote control. I can't find any replacements online (or at least can't find any that arent extortionate) so I was wondering if anyone knew of any codes that would work to program my YouView remote (a BT Vision one) to control its basic features, or can anyone suggest a reasonably priced universal one that would do the same?

Im no skinflint but dont wish to spend more money on the remote than the system itself is worth (which I know isnt very much!).

You need to find out what make it is, Durabrand is just a label used by Asda (I think it's Asda?), so no use for identifying a remote - apart from through Asda, who 'should' be able to supply you a replacement remote.

Yeah but getting a phone number for someone to speak to who actually knows what they are doing at asda is seemingly impossible. Unless anyone knows any tricks?

The TalkTalk help pages list the following codes for Durabrand: 285, 361, 453. Might just work their TVs though, but worth a try.

Yeah already tried these codes, shame they didn't work looks like in going to have to contact asda helpline.

Durabrand HT3916 seems a fairly old model and trying to locate a remote control is very difficult. The only one I've found is this on US Amazon (and even that's not an original)
