This article seems to show protesters demonstrating about the Doctor's name being revealed (although the image is a fake). Now I can't help but wonder something.

You know how the Occupy and the Anonymous movements both use the Guy Fawkes masks from V for Vendetta as their trademark image? Well isn't the Silence - "not a race but a religious order" - a ready-made image for protesters to don if they decided to hold a demo at the BBC or the studios DW is filmed at?

I mean, you can already download a Silence facemask from the BBC's own website. And since the Silence and the Doctor are really both on the same side - neither want the Question to be answered, although they clearly have different solutions to the problem! - maybe the fans are, too.

Could protests or demonstrations, even tiny ones, spring up against the naming of the Doctor?

I doubt it, although some people on my Google+ group thought that picture was real until I showed them the original!

I just can't get the image of thousands of 'cosplay' types getting kettled in Cardiff out of my mind !!

Or how about the 'Soulless' masks in Miracle Day, they seem like a cool missed opportunity. But I highly doubt that we'll actually find out his name.

I don't understand the big deal with his real name. In all the decades I've watched the show, I've never been remotely intrigued about what it is. Unless his name signifies he's actually one of the major leaders of Earth's religions or God himself, I struggle to see how the big reveal will be worthy of the increasing hype.

Any protests will be pointless because they ain't going to reveal it.

I don't understand why anyone gives a crap. It's just a name. I keep imagining it's something like Kal-El ala Superman. Big bloody deal.
