I have just made a Croquembouche with Lemon creme patissiere in. I made a dark chocolate sauce but I am now a little concerned that lemon and chocolate will not be a good combination?

What does everyone reckon?

I think it will be fine - the richness of the chocolate will cut through the tartness of the lemon. I'd only do a light drizzle of the chocolate sauce though rather than swamp it!

What time shall I come over?

In which case, I won't gatecrash the family party but do keep some aside for me.

You should indeed feel proud, I think creating something special in the kitchen for someone you love is fantastic.

Ooh, that's brave. I've never tried doing spun sugar before (mainly because I'd have a heck of a mess to clean up afterwards!)

I often make profiteroles and stuff some of them with cream and some with lemon mousse, then have dark chocolate sauce drizzled over them all.
Always seems to go down well. Lemon and chocolate is a lovely flavour combination, I think.
