Writers, directors, producers and bias?

Just something I was wondering about...

Do you pay attention to who writes and/or directs an episode and do you think you allow that to bias your judgement of it?

Alternatively, do you think other people have a biased perception of episodes involving certain people?

Personally, I deliberately try not to pay attention to who writes or directs an episode so that (hopefully) I can judge it on merit but I'm in the middle of rewatching all the 2005 series' again and I've noticed that I do seem to prefer episodes involving specific writers and directors.

Just strikes me that some people might be a little partisan in regard to their criticism/support of a disliked/favoured writer or director.

Yes, I confess that I am guilty of this with Mark Gatiss. I have not been a fan of most his DW episodes and therefore I have been a bit less excited for his episodes this year than for episodes than the ones from other writers. But then again it meant that I was surprised by how much I liked Cold War. On the opposite end of the scale I am super exited for the Cybermen episode because of Neil Gaiman.

And yes, from what I have noticed others on these boards are also guilty of this, I guess it can't be helped.

The funniest however is the group of people who have absolutely no idea who wrote the episodes, but blame Moffat for 'writing bad scripts', IMO for no other reason than that it is cool to hate Moffat these days. (To be completely clear this is not about the people who dislike Moffat's workas showrunner and clearly post their reasons why).
