Why don't you like her though?

At least Lynsey didn't shoot Seamus and then let Brendan take the blame for her. She and Brendan just underestimated Silas.

I think I liked Lynsey more because I feel like she had more depth than Cheryl, so the Brynsey scenes felt like they meant more. Cheryl had her moments, but she was mostly written as a comedy character, so her characterization was all over the place.
Well true

Oh she did. She was a kind person, selfless and thoughtful. (I can see Mojo rolling her eyes from here )

Cheryl is way too inconsistent which is a shame because I did like her, but not always

I liked it. Funny how I was joking about her falling from the window would be like The Princess Bride and it did kind of look like that after all.

People saying why didn't anyone do anything while she fell, especially Doug. Um, it was slow mo. In real time it would've taken her less than 2 seconds to hit the ground. They wouldn't have had time to do anything to save her.

I posted on the episode thread downstairs but it seems to have gone unnoticed. Flat footsteps can be heard running away as the camera pans out from the window inside. Not heels, so that rules out the female suspects.

As I'm convinced by this it does of course mean it'll turn out to be one of the female suspects.
I can see why people were a little baffled by the reactions though. Obviously it did happen within seconds but even after only Mercedes really gave a decent reaction to it but then I do think Jen's pretty good. I'm hoping Doug will get his moment tonight anyway (don't say a word, everyone )

Oh yeah I wondered about the footfalls. Unless Will can walk that would rule him out too I still think it's Theresa or Anna though.

You're hoping he will Ayla, but you won't like it when he does.

Yeah, Cheryl and Brendan really did have their moments, but their relationship was just too inconsistent. She got mad at him and swore to never talk to him again about once every other week. Cheryl and Ste didn't have the most consistent friendship either. Keebro have a cute friendship in real life, but there were some really bizarre moments onscreen, like when Ste was in a coma and Cheryl spent all her time with some teens.

I can see why people didn't like Lynsey because they found her shrill and annoying when she was going on about Silas, but it didn't bother me. I still liked her character.

I think it's either Will, Anna, or Theresa. Leanne has her crazy moments, but she wouldn't kill her best friend and Dodger wouldn't kill her either. Paul doesn't have a strong motive. And Mercedes was outside and she also doesn't have a strong motive. So I think it has to be one of those three unless it's somebody completely different.

The flat footsteps observation is a really good one, but I don't know if Hollyoaks thought that far ahead.

Edit: By "far ahead", I mean I don't know if they were that detailed when they were shooting it/adding sound effects/etc.

I'm someone that's watched him pull a cry face every other episode for almost a year, and I still can't think about the crash stuff without popping a rib.

It's never been good, love

Well no, wait. The Boxing Day emoshing and his moment over Lynsey in the deli were ok. Also his crying over Riley (God he's done a lot of crying), but tonight's going to be hysterical.

Don't worry. We'll stand at the door with baseball bats if anyone tries.

Or cake. Doug's all about cake at the moment. I like to think he got into baking while away in California as a therapeutic way of dealing with his grief over Riley and then again when he went to New York alone when he split from Ste.

The crowd all had time to be fully turned and gawk due to some very bad editing. They were all fully turned before she even left the window as a matter of fact. They had time to attempt to catch her. No one so much as moved forward. It was edited together (and performed) really badly.

Why don't you like her though?
I found her very annoying. Mainly due to the Silas story where she was very irritating and droned on.

Bonnie...

PJ was great in the boxing day episode. It's that kind of emotion that he is good with. The reason I didn't like the majority of the emotion shown throughout the Stug storyline was because of how ridiculous the whole thing was. He has every right to lose his shit tonight though, so don't you judge.

I think Cheryl was a very poor friend in general tbh Let's not forget her agreeing to arrange Doug and Ste's wedding and rubbing Brendan's nose in it, and then a few months down the line gushing to Leanne about the Stendan reunion. She's an odd duck

Oh yeah I totally get it too. I do still like her. Karen's good, consistently good. Let's remember her appearing as a ghost to Silas that was ace.

Don't worry. We'll stand at the door with baseball bats if anyone tries.

Aw, Dougie. I wish he'd throw on a jumper or go do something underhand than bake though I must admit #oldschoolDoug

That did cross my mind.

It made me think of a scene from the League Of Gentlemen where they're playing billiards and the characters are talking about something very hush hush. They suddenly stop as someone passes. It's clearly a big bloke but the sound effect as he passes is of stilettos.

It's going to be cringey losing of his shit though Ayla

And Stug was just ... God, everything was wrong with them Ridiculous squared.

I think about all that crying now, and ... Ste would have always only been with a man. Not that. No Doug. *shudders uncontrollably*

HE'S JUST LOST HIS BEST FRIEND

Let me stop you there, Bon It's nothing to do with his masculinity. I didn't appreciate (in particular) the scene during Jubilee week where Doug broke down in the deli and Ste looked petrified. It was terrible. PJ was great but the material, the crying, all of it: terrible. These distinctions are important, my dear

Yes, the Boxing Day episode really showed what PJ is capable of when given the right material. He'll be defending Leanne, becoming concerned about Ste and dealing with JP trying to make amends at the same time, so he'll have a fairly central role over the next 2-3 weeks.

(Sorry Iclabon. )

It's still my favourite Doug episode by far. The tears rolling down his cheeks before he jumps I always gasp.

Yeah that's true JP's been less than wonderful to him lately though so that particular interaction concerns me I hope they snark at each other rather than do all the big apologies anyway.

If only they would do without the Ste concern. And then using Stug to cockblock JPug.

They need to have nothing to do with each other. Live your lives, guys.

He really can be fantastic with the right material. They never should have shoved him in the middle of the Stendan relationship, they ruined him for me. I liked him and Ste, just not as a couple. The relationship changed Doug and they haven't really given him anything to really run with since then. I hope whatever they do with him in the aftermath of Texas is good and something he can shine with.

Oh, and did we know Kirk Norcross got his cock out on Skype?

And wasn't he sitting with our people at the NTAs?

There's nothing better than coming on the thread dedicated to my favourite character just to see people discussing my most hated characters

Brendan is the sex.
